Betsson Group Becomes Member of the EGBA

The EGBA has announced that Betsson Group, the leading European online gambling company has joined the association on the 20th of February, 2017. Betsson Group is an established European online gambling company, well-known in the Nordic markets. According to the European Gaming and Betting Association’s (EGBA) press release, the company is about to expand its market share outside of the area. After becoming a member, the online gambling company’s aspirations can benefit from the EGBA’s “knowledge, expertise and support,” commented Ulrik Bengtsson, CEO of Bettson Group. As local gambling regulations are in the works all over Europe, Bengtsson finds it really important that the new markets’ “licensing regimes are compliant with EU law and the increasing EU regulation applicable to online gambling.” Secretary General of EGBA, Maarten Haijer said that the company’s “addition bolsters even further our ability to be the voice of industry when speaking to regulators and policy makers about the many regulatory challenges facing the industry.” Betsson Group has been a member of the Swedish gambling association, BOS – which is also cooperating with the EGBA - since 2015.
