Manchester United want quality reinforcement while Liverpool would take anybody.

As actual playing of club football is almost over in Europe for this season, transfer reports and rumours take over in the news. As usually in recent years, Liverpool and Tottenham is linked with nearly everyone who ever kicked a ball in his life and not been freshly signed to an actual elite club. Manchester United is planning to build an afro all-star team at Old Trafford to shock those who bet on sports in the UK, while Angel di Maria and Bastian Schweinsteiger could swap their places this summer.

Tottenham strengthens their defence

Before starting to hire Liverpool’s transfer targets one by one, Tottenham Hotspurs quickly acted to add some quality to their backline, signing a 22-year-old Austrian international from 1. FC Cologne. Kevin Wimmer, who wasn’t bad at all in this Bundesliga season, and astonishingly not been linked with Liverpool, signed a five-year deal with the North London outfit. Starting his career at LASK Linz in Austria, he was part of the Cologne side that achieved promotion to the German top flight twelve months ago, raising his game for the 2014-15 campaign that saw him to display quality performance in the Bundesliga week in week out.

• Afro party at Old Trafford?
• Liverpool want anybody
• De Maria and Schweini to swap places?

Wimmer reportedly cost GBP 4.5 million to Tottenham, and he expected to become a regular next season as club manager Mauricio Pochettino isn’t totally satisfied with his two starting central defenders, Younes Kaboul and Vlad Chiriches. Tottenham finished fifth in the Premier League, settling for another Europa League campaign, however their real goal would be a top four finish next season, though they seem to lack the quality to achieve that at the moment.

Dante and Fellaini in the same team?

German gambling news reported that Manchester United are in for Bayern Munich’s Brazilian defender Dante. It emerged from the media previously that the two clubs are negotiating about possible deals involving Angel di Maria and Bastian Schweinsteiger too. The Red Devils plan to strengthen the heart of their defence, and that’s why they approached the Bavarians about the 31-year-old centre back. Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels and Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi are mentioned frequently as United’s other targets for the position.

David Moyes, who obviously has an affection for afros, allegedly tried to sign Dante in 2014 after bringing Marouane Fellaini to Old Trafford, and it is no surprise either that Louis van Gaal tries to get players from his former club. However, given that there are better and younger ball-playing centre backs in the market too, it would be some kind of a surprise if the experienced Brazilian, who has a contract until 2017, would end up at Old Trafford this summer.

Liverpool can’t even get a right back from Southampton

Nathaniel Clyne
The Merseyside outfit offered GBP 10 million to the Saints for Nathaniel Clyne, however the full back refused to move to Anfield, according to mobile betting news. Clyne, who made his debut for England last year against Slovenia in a EURO 2016 qualifier, has one year left on his current contract and is allegedly wanted by Manchester United too. As Glen Johnson leaving Liverpool and Jon Flanagan is out for next season after another procedure, Brendan Rodgers (or someone else) will need a guy who is able to play at right back.

Liverpool borrowed Javier Manquillo from Atletico Madrid last summer, but the Spaniard was far from impressive. They used primarily Emre Can on the right side of the defence, though the German international is expected to play in his preferred position in midfield next season. Promising youngster Andre Wisdom is coming back after spending a season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, but he is a central defender naturally.

Tevez to Merseyside?

Carlos Tevez
What is not appealing for a 24-year-old right back, could be perfect for a 31-year-old Argentinian forward. Carlos Tevez, who previously played for West Ham United, Manchester United and Manchester City in England, is reportedly thinking about moving to the United Kingdom once again. Liverpool is desperately looking for a top striker (too), after those who got the job were unable to bag goals in the quantity Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge did.

Tevez is a three-time English (and two-time Italian) champion, so he would be able to teach a thing or two to the young Reds, after he represented Juventus in the Champions League final. Liverpool is also linked with Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke, though he is allegedly also tempted by other clubs, basically the ones who have finished above Liverpool in the Premier League this season. It seems that he will go for GBP 30 million somewhere this summer, as it is hard to imagine that Villa can keep his top asset after just having avoided relegation.

Before we place a wager on Dante being the new Manchester United centre back, have a look at the market, as it won’t be a surprise at all if Van Gaal ended up hiring someone else instead. Liverpool have to sign a few players if they want to top the likes of Southampton , Stoke and Everton next year as well, but they lack quality in several positions, so they have to consider carefully who to bring in. So, it might be better not placing bets on any fancy targets, but to wager on the most likely ones after assessing the situation.
