Having improved her serve in the 2016 season and changing coaches multiple times the same year to find the best one, Svitolina is getting more and more threatening. Since then, she has overcome the problems pregnancy caused her, but is still not in top form. This could be witnessed in the 2018 Fed Cup, where she and her sister lost to Lesley Kerkhove and Demi Schuurs.

Still, Williams has proven many times that she is a fighter. Time is also on her side: September is four and a half months away. That could be enough for her to prepare and emerge victorious.
