Following a great round of 16, we now turn our attention to the next stage of the elite football competition.

Many teams enter the Champions League every year in hopes of making their mark in the popular sporting event, however only the strongest sides that remain constantly dominant can survive through all the challenges. Gambling news reports that once the knockout stage comes about only the select few remain competing for the elephant ear-shaped trophy.

Now for the quarter finals we will be graced with spectacular encounters. Atletico Madrid will host fierce rivals Real Madrid in what should be a thrilling game to follow. Juventus will square off against Monaco, while 2013 Champions League winners Bayern Munich will travel to Porto. And the final match on the schedule is a mouth-watering clash between PSG and Catalan powerhouse Barcelona.

Atletico Madrid vs Real Madrid and Juventus vs Monaco

Diego Simeone’s men have played a marvelous campaign last season which saw them enter the final where they faced Real Madrid. They lead the game until the last minutes of the match, however they were unfortunate as Los Blancos lifted their 10th crown after the final whistle. This time Atletico will have a chance to exact revenge on their rivals, and considering the fact that they will be playing at home the first encounter they could be able to pull off a win.

Real Madrid have been unstoppable in the elite tournament this season. They topped their group with ease, winning all of their games and notching a remarkable 18 goals while letting in only 2. That is why Bet365 has decided to give them slightly better chances for the upcoming game, assigning them odds of 2.70 (17/10), with the draw being 3.30 (23/10). However, Atletico will likely make use of home field advantage as they will aim to win the game 2.88 (15/8).

Juventus will defend its colors against a side that is trying to replicate the success they experienced over a decade ago. AS Monaco were one of the promising sides in the Champions League in the 2003-2004 season when they reached the final of the competition, however unfortunately for them they lost out to Porto. Now they will be looking to do their best in order to reach even further, although realistically they are not considered among the favorites 8.50 (15/2).

The Italian club have been a true force in Serie A as they are aiming to lift their fourth consecutive domestic title. They boast some very impressive talents that include the likes of Pogba, Pirlo, Vidal and many others. That is just part of the reason why they have been dealt highly positive odds by mobile betting sites. The Turin-based side are very likely 1.50 (1/2) to win the first encounter, while the draw does not seem to be on the cards 4.20 (16/5).

Porto vs Bayern Munich and PSG vs Barcelona

Porto last won the Champions League in 2004, when Jose Mourinho was at the helm of the club. Since then the most that they have managed to win was the Europa League, which they claimed in 2011. The current campaign has seen them achieve 4 wins and 2 draws in the group stage, recording 14 points in the process. They progressed to the quarter finals by defeating Swiss side Basel 4-1 on aggregate and now they will play against Bayern, a match that should prove very difficult.

The Germans won the tournament in 2013, after two previous disappointing appearances in the final (2010 and 2012). Last season saw them lose out in the semi-finals against Real Madrid, however this year they are even more equipped to handle other competitors. Judging by the players present within their team they should be able to win the match. Online betting providers have assigned them favorites odds 1.80 (4/5), while Porto are underdogs 5.00 (4/1).

The last encounter on the list is probably the most exciting one. PSG will host Barcelona as they aim to make their presence known in the Champions League. The Parisiens have so far eliminated Chelsea in the round of 16, so they are looking strong to build on their European adventure. In the group stage they even managed to defeat the Catalan side 3-2 once, so who’s to say they won’t repeat that result again.

Barcelona will do everything in their power to overcome Paris and progress to the next round, as they the look to lift their first Champions League trophy since 2011. Online sportsbooks in EU have given them favorable odds of 1.85 (6/7), while a draw stands at a high 3.75 (11/4), an event that is also probable. A win for the hosts stands at 4.50 (7/2), although in reality their chances of success are a lot higher than the odds suggest.
