As many specialized handball websites report we will probably see Filip Jicha to Barcelona’s shirt in the upcoming season.

In the past month, after Nikola Karabatic announced his departure from F.C. Barcelona, the handball world started with the speculations about his possible replacement in the team from Palau Blaugrana. If the talk about a replacement of today’s best handball player in the world makes sense at all, then every handball fan would say that there are only two options for properly filing the gap on the left back position in Barca: Mikkel Hansen or Filip Jicha.

• Jicha in Barcelona for 4 years
• The departure of Jicha a considerable loss for THW Kiel
• Barcelona becomes favorite for the Champions League again
And while everybody was waiting for the news of the Dane leaving Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and come back to the club where he played between 2008 and 2010, astonishing information shock the handball world. Filip Jicha, the captain of THW Kiel, is on his way to Barcelona! Many would consider this to be the most nonsensical speculation ever, if the THW Kiel itself did not resend this information through its official twitter and Facebook accounts. This was reported report the web sites of some of the greatest online sportsbooks in Germany.

The transfer of Filip Jicha to Barcelona will calm the spirits in the Catalan team

After the promotion of Karabatic in PSG many fans of the Blaugranas were worried about the person that will share with Rutenka the left back position in the team next year. It have already been known in the handball circles that FC Barcelona was trying to come to an agreement with MKB MVM Veszprem’s left back, Momir Ilic, but the negotiations with the Hungarian champion did not give results. Ilic extended his contract with Veszprem, which was a signal for Barcelona to look for a top left back on some other side. The first association was PSG and Mikkel Hansen who plays practically on the same position with the newcomer in Paris, Nikola Karabatic.

However when yesterday Mundo Deportivo announced that there are negotiations between THW captain, Filip Jicha, and Barcelona many fans were shocked. Those from Barcelona in a positive, while those of THW Kiel in a negative sense. Los Barcelonistas are finally calmed since they know that Jicha is the only one that can be more or less appropriate replacement for Karabatic. The fans of the Zebras however were left with lots of questions. The “zebras” have already left one of the best central backs in the world, Aron Palmarsson to MKB-MVM Veszprem, as gambling news report. And while they have enough munition on that position, their left side would seem pretty poor without Jicha.

The only player there for the following season on the left back side is Christian Dissinger, who is far from being someone that the team can rely on. This season what he needs to do is first of all to show, after so many years of nice words spend about him by the handball experts, that he really deserves to wear the black and white shirt. The youngster will be on a test. But who will be there to correct his mistakes and take the things in his own hands when the team is not playing well, if Jicha is not there? Needless to say that without Jicha the team loses in a great extent its favorite role in the Handball Bundesliga as well as in the EHF Velux Champions League.

Filip Jicha to Barcelona for 4 years?

Filip Jicha is one of the most precious handball profiles that can be find worldwide. He can manage to get along with any situation on the handball court. He can play as a left back, assist as a central back, fight on the front line as a pivot. He can defend, but he can be also a counter attacker. Many other players in the world of handball can do the same. But only he can do all of it on a highest level.

As online gambling news in EU report, the current captain of THW Kiel has already behind him two European champion titles as well as eight titles “Champion of Germany”. In 2010 he was awarded by the IHF with the prestigious “Handball player of the year” award. According to handball portals all over Europe, he has already given a green light to the Catalan team for signing a four years contract. But now starts the most difficult part of the negotiations for Barcelona: the conversations with THW Kiel. These are supposed to start today and the outcome will be known by the beginning of the next week.
