Two of the biggest gambling associations, EGBA and RGA, ESSA, including European sports association such as EU Athletes, PPF have all decided to use an identical code of conduct to interlink their wagering education programs.

This effort, which began last year, will encompass 6 Euro countries, including four of the biggest EU states (UK, Spain, Germany and France), seven sports and 8500 participants. What makes this program different from all past efforts to teach ethics and morality to wealthy adults, is the participation of ex-players and wealthier top sportsmen.

These heroes of yesteryear will invade player’s locker rooms and preach that it’s wrong to bet on sports in United Kingdom against your own team and then to throw the game or miss goals on purpose in order to receive money from organized crime figures.

According to online gambling news in United Kingdom, INTERPOL General Ronal Noble agreed that international police must be involved and briefed in detail about this unique sports integrity program and would like to see FIFA-INTERPOL get involved in joint programs based in Global Complex in Singapore.

Walter Palmer, General Secretary of EU Athletes says - ‘The code of conduct on sports betting is designed to help European sports professionals get a grip on, and deal with, issues surrounding the integrity of sport and betting both on- and offline. The decision to adopt a common code across the two programs can only help strengthen our message.’

Simon Taylor, General Secretary of the UK Professional Players Federation (PPF) said this will ‘facilitate the exchange of best practice benefiting professional sportspeople, the integrity of sport and betting operators. This is essential in the fight against the small number of people that seek to try and corrupt sporting events.’
