March Madness is arguably the most exciting month in sports. 68 teams will face off in a single-elimination tournament to determine which college basketball team is the best in the country. The betting odds are now set, so let’s take a look at who’s favored to win.

North Carolina: +500

  • North Carolina: +500
  • UCLA: +700
  • Gonzaga: +750
  • Kansas: +800
  • Duke: +900

The North Carolina Tar Heels are considered one of the best teams in NCAA basketball history. Since their first season in 1910, they have won 5 championships, tied for 3rd most overall. Roy Williams has been a crucial part of their success, with 14 straight years of head coaching duties.

Now, North Carolina is one of the 2017 NCAA Championship betting favorites to win the championship. They play in one of the most competitive conferences in the country, and have been nothing short of fantastic this season, going 25-5.

The Tar Heels have already secured at least a portion of the ACC title, and many college basketball betting experts predict they’ll win it all this year. North Carolina’s odds are currently set at +500, according to Bovada.

UCLA: +700

The UCLA Bruins are another team that experts feel can get the victory this season. With a 26-3 overall season record, and 7 straight game win streak, it’s hard to argue they’re not one of the top teams in college basketball this year, with a number of players that even Chinese basketball young talents couldn’t compare to.

UCLA’s only losses this season were to teams also ranked in the top 25. Their most recent win came in a 77-72 match with fellow top 10 ranked team the Arizona Wildcats. Current coach Steve Alford has been impressive, starting off his first year with a Pac-12 tournament championship and another spot in the top 16 the year later.

Now, UCLA will be looking to set a record 12th NCAA Championship win, and many online sportsbooks in the US are predicting they get it done. Their recent performances have helped them to become one of the 2017 NCAA Championship betting favorites, and if they continue to play how they have been it won’t be a surprise to see them end this season with the trophy. Their odds to win are currently set at +700.

Gonzaga: +750

Right behind UCLA in the 2017 NCAA basketball betting odds is the Washington-based Gonzaga Bulldogs. This team was undefeated for the entire 2016/17 season before an upset loss to BYU this past Saturday. Nonetheless, they are one of the best teams in the world right now, and have a great shot to end the season with their first NCAA Championship.

Mark Few has been Gonzaga’s head coach for an incredible 18 years, and has helped his team go from mediocre status to one of the best in the USA. They’ve reached the Sweet Sixteen 3 times in the past decade, and made the Elite Eight in 2015. They’ve also managed to put on one of their best seasons this year, with 5 wins over teams ranked in the top 25.

Can Gonzaga win the NCAA Championship in 2017? It remains to be seen. They have some serious competition to beat, and the 2017 March Madness bracket has not yet been made. Bovada lists their current odds to win at +750, making them one of the best options to bet on the 2017 NCAA Championship.
