With the regular season set to begin in just a couple months, now is a great time to highlight some of the most promising European NFL players to watch in 2017.

More and more people around the world are beginning to follow American football. Europe in particular has a growing fan base in a number of different countries including the UK, Germany, and Sweden. The growth of this sport is even more evident when you look at the number of Europeans in the NFL today.

In this article we’ll list three European NFL players that are currently signed to teams, and discuss what each of these team’s odds are to win the Super Bowl this season with BetVictor.

Jermaine Eluemunor: Baltimore Ravens

Perhaps the most exciting European prospect currently inside the NFL is UK-born offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor. After spending 14 years in his native England, Jermaine moved to New Jersey and began competing in football for his high school on both the offensive and defensive lines.

Super Bowl betting favorites

  • New England Patriots: 4/1
  • Green Bay Packers: 9/1
  • Dallas Cowboys: 10/1
  • Seattle Seahawks: 10/1
  • Atlanta Falcons: 12/1

Eluemunor returned to the UK in his sophomore year of high school, but begged his father to return to the US, which was agreed on the condition he finish his college degree. He enrolled at Texas A&M and eventually ended his last year starting in 12 out of 13 games. After an impressive NFL combine, he was officially drafted to the Baltimore Ravens at the 2017 NFL Draft.

Jermaine was chosen 159th in the draft, and despite his obvious athletic talent there are a number of players on the Raven’s with considerably more experience. Still, he’s without a doubt one of the European NFL players to watch this year. As of now, BetVictor lists the Raven’s odds to win the Super Bowl at 40/1.

Anthony Dable: Atlanta Falcons

Frenchman Anthony Dable was signed with the New York Giants in 2016, but after one practice season he was released from the team. In an interview with USA Today, he stated he was “cut for no reason,” and didn’t feel he was given the chances that some of fellow players had to perform.

In early 2017, Dable signed a reserve/future contract with the Atlanta Falcons. This means he can’t actually play for the team this season, but also cannot be signed to any others. As a wide receiver, he has plenty of competition to make his name, and the Falcons are one of the Super Bowl betting favorites this year according to most online sportsbooks in the UK with odds of 12/1.

The experience playing and training at a high level makes Dable one of the European NFL players to keep an eye on this year. His attitude is exactly what you want from an aspiring athlete, and it’s not crazy to imagine him starting for a major team in the next year or two.

Mark Nzeocha: Dallas Cowboys

Mark Nzeocha is without a doubt one of the top European NFL players in the game right now. He was born in Ansbach, Germany and attended college at the University of Wyoming where he played as linebacker, free safety, and strong safety.

Nzeocha was selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the 7th round of the 2015 NFL Draft, chosen primarily for his athletic abilities as opposed to his football talent. Injuries kept him on the sidelines for the majority of his first season, but will likely be fit to compete in 2017.

The Cowboys were one of the best teams last season, and nearly made UK gambling news by earning at shot at the NFC Championship before losing an extremely close game to the Packers. At the moment, BetVictor list the Cowboys’ odds to win the Super Bowl at 10/1.

All three of the European NFL players we listed here have a real shot at making an impact in the next several years. Tell us which one you are the most excited about in the comment section below!
