On September 7th, the 2017 NFL season will officially begin. Before it starts, here are a few great underdogs to bet on winning the Super Bowl.

There’s still a considerable amount of time set before the 2017 regular NFL season begins. Nevertheless, football fans around the world are busy predicting who will make it to the Super Bowl this year, and a number of promising underdogs have some tremendous odds.

In this article we’ll break down three of the best NFL underdogs that you can place bets on winning the Super Bowl this season, and what makes them a solid team to wager on.

Bet on the Oakland Raiders: 17.00

For years, the Oakland Raiders failed to find even the most modest success on the field. In 2015, Jack Del Rio was named head coach of the team, and they immediately began experiencing a resurgence. They certainly made improvements in 2015, but in 2016 they began to look like a team with a real shot at winning the Super Bowl.

2017 Super Bowl betting favorites

  • New England Patriots: 5.50
  • Dallas Cowboys: 10.00
  • Green Bay Packers: 11.00
  • Seattle Seahawks: 11.00
  • Pittsburgh Steelers: 12.00

At the end of the regular season, they held a 12-4 record, earning them a spot in the playoffs. Bad luck immediately struck them as Derek Carr suffered a broken fibula and backup QB Matt McGloin suffered a shoulder injury. They lost their first playoff game, but many NFL betting experts feel they will do even bigger things in 2017.

So what makes the Raiders one of the best underdogs to bet on winning the Super Bowl this year? Well for one, they have one of the most talented quarterbacks in the league. Derek Carr was drafted in 2014, and has already set the franchise record for most passing yards in a game. He’s only 26 years old, and will likely continue to improve in the coming years. At the moment, Intertops lists the Raider’s odds to win the 2018 Super Bowl at 17.00.

Bet on the Houston Texans: 23.00

At the start of the 2016 NFL season, many online sportsbooks in the US gave the Houston Texans some great odds to win the Super Bowl. For a time, it looked like that prediction was correct, as they ended the regular season with a 9-7 record and the AFC South title.

Houston was eventually defeated by the future champions, the Patriots, in the second playoff round, but they played admirably. Now, this team is without a doubt one of the top underdog teams to bet on winning the Super Bowl in 2018. The Texans have one of the best defenses in the entire league thanks to players like J.J. Watt and Jadeveon Clowney, and will have time to improve their offense in the offseason.

It’s actually a little surprising to see Intertops list the Texan’s odds to win the 2018 Super Bowl so low at 23.00. A wager here could earn you some serious cash if they manage to win.

Bet on the Cleveland Browns: 151.00

We know, we know. The Cleveland Browns are the worst team in the league. This season however, they have the opportunity to make US gambling news with one of the great upset victories in the history of the NFL.

You must be wondering how the Cleveland Browns could be considered one of the best underdogs to bet on winning the Super Bowl. The answer is in their fresh new talent. We recently wrote about some of the top prospects to watch this year, and wouldn’t you believe it, the two of the players we listed are with Cleveland.

The Brown’s commitment to exciting new players makes them a team to watch in 2017. Both Myles Garrett and David Njoku will be fantastic addition to their roster, and may be exactly the thing needed to push the Brown’s to victory. Nevertheless, they’re the biggest Super Bowl underdogs in 2018 with staggering odds of 151.00.

All three of these teams are great underdogs to bet on winning the Super Bowl. To find a full list of 2018 Super Bowl winner betting odds, make sure to head to Intertops.
