Peruvian Gambling Laws - GamingZion
Gambling is an activity that the good people of Peru are very familiar with, to say the least. As a matter of fact, this Latin American nation is home to one of the largest gambling industries on the entire South American continent.

Despite the industry’s booming popularity, Peruvian gambling law has not always been on the cutting edge, and the government likely paid for it dearly. Within the last few years, the government managed to get its act together and began regulating the plethora of existing gambling establishments, which had up until that point operated illegally.

At this point, most forms of gambling are legal, taxed and well regulated. The government sees a great deal of revenue through the industry. Even internet gambling in Peru is permitted and licensed by the government.

Online casinos in Peru, as well as their land-based equivalents, are quite popular and visited often. There are now nearly 50 land based casinos in the country! As is the case all over the rest of the world, poker is also gaining in popularity at an exponential rate.

As a result to the sudden demand, the Poker Stars Latin American Poker Tour will be making a stop in Peru this June! This will be the first time that the Poker Tour has visit Peru at all, and will be settling in Lima.

This stop on the tour will be replacing a stop that was cancelled in Chile. This may be a good indication that Peru is being taken more seriously as a destination for future poker tours in addition to this one.
