Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao have so far met up in a courtside to watch basketball but what boxing fans are looking forward to is for the two to meet in a ring

US sports betting fans can’t wait to wager on what may be the biggest boxing match of the century.

In what might end up being the biggest welterweight fight of the century, Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao may be butting heads soon. Boxing fans have been expecting the two to box for a long time now but to date, it seems a contract has yet to be signed.

Pacquiao's publicist, Fred Sternburg, mentioned in recent US gambling news, that the much sought after fight is in a “positive direction” but couldn’t confirm when the fight would take place. The two did however meet up in person for the first time and even exchanged numbers at a US basketball game as Miami took on Milwaukee Bucks.

$200 million worth of match and bet for welterweights likely

Thirty six year old Pacquiao, from the Philippines, holds a WBO belt and an eight-division world champion. His rival, thirty-seven year old Mayweather, is the WBC and WBA champion. Pacquiao, and Mayweather, famous for being a world champion at five weights are looked upon as the best fighters of their era.

Rumors are that Pacquiao was okay with a May 2nd bout in Las Vegas, per US gambling laws. Should a match take place between the two rivals it could easily fetch over $200,000,000 in pay-per-view receipts. But there has been a hitch as Mayweather insisted on them being both tested for dope during training but Pacquiao is reluctant saying ‘those demands cast me in a bad light as a suspected cheat’.
