This month the World Poker Tour (WPT) is making a stop in Marrakesh at the Es Saadi Casino, sanctioned under Morocco gambling laws.

According to online gambling news in Morocco, the country’s Muslim monarchy is able to get away with hosting a poker tournament as well as operate casinos (which are strictly against Islamic laws) only because the great King of Morocco has the country under very, very tight control, which is good news for all the infidels.

Most, if not all of the imams within Morocco are either members of or are employed by the secret police and the moment that even a whisper of jihad or revolution is heard, the powerful secret police quickly culls the jihadists before they had a chance to infect others.

On that note, this November 23 to 27, poker players are promised a ‘diverse’ WPT event at the Es Saadi Casino in Marakesh, which has been in business since the early 1950s.

Players are promised gourmet food and alcohol fueled parties in the middle of high stakes poker action as well as roulette, blackjack and slots. It’s hard to believe that all this is completely legal according to Islam based Morocco gambling laws, but apparently it all is.

On November 23, online poker in Morocco satellites will be held along with three live satellites DH 3,500 (€ 320) for the Main Event. The main even (last year there were around 222 players) will have two Day-1 on 24th and 25th of November 2011 (Day-1A and Day-1B) with a buy-in of DH 33,000 (€ 3,000)

On November 25 the Morocco Championship of Poker will take place - a € 500 NLH Freezeout and a €900 NLH Freezeout. The champion will be crowned on November 27, and last year’s winner, Sebastian Homann of Germany will possibly be on hand to defend the title.

Try to make this one of a kind WPT event before the Morocco gambling laws become in synch with the rest of the Muslim world, since by that time it will be too late.
