The 2017 World Aquatics Championship is now underway, and members of Paddy Power have a great opportunity to bet on the FINA Championships winners!

July 14th marked the start of the 2017 FINA Championships in Budapest, Hungary. A number of major races have already taken place, but many of the finals are yet to take place. Those that like to bet on sports in the UK can now place their wagers on who wins.

In this article we’ll look at three upcoming races you can bet on. Each one offers some terrific odds, and it wouldn’t shock many to see the betting underdogs pull off the upsets.

Bet on the men’s 200m IM

The first heats of the 200m individual medley will take place on July 26th, and the finals will begin the next day on the 27th. The 200 medley sees races swim all four strokes and is oftentimes the most anticipated race of any event.

Men’s 200m individual medley betting odds

  • Kosuke Hegino: 8/13
  • Philip Heintz: 12/5
  • Dan Wallace: 11/4
  • Wang Shun: 11/2
  • Chase Kalisz: 10/1

There are some fantastic odds for those wanting to bet on the FINA Championships 200m individual medley winner. Leading the odds is Japan’s Kosuke Hagino, who holds Asian Records in this particular event and is coming off a swimmer of the year award. Hagino’s odds to win the 200m IM are set at 8/13.

Philip Heintz is another favorite heading into this event. He took silver at the 2016 Windsor, and finished 6th at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Heintz’ odds are set at 12/5. If you want to bet on a FINA underdog, consider wagering on Chase Kalisz. Chase won silver at the 2016 Olympic Games in the 400m IM, but has Paddy Power odds of just 10/1 to get the win this year at 200m.

Bet on the men’s 50m freestyle

The men’s 50m freestyle race is another anticipated event heading into this tournament. The heats will begin on July 28th, with the finals taking place on the 29th. 22 year old Ben Proud is at the top of the odds right now at 11/8. He failed to medal at the 2016 Olympics in this event, but is coming off a British Record breaking performance at the British Championship.

One of the best options to bet on the FINA Championships is Caelab Dressel, who’s coming off a gold medal victory in the 400m individual medley in Rio. He also set the American Record in the 4×100 meter freestyle. Dressel’s odds to win are set at 9/5.

Cesar Cielo is one of the older men taking part in the 50m freestyle at 30 years of age, but some are listing him as a great betting option. Alongside the Brazilian team Cielo won silver in the 4×100 meter freestyle, and has a real shot at making UK gambling news with the upset win in the 50m. His odds sit at 12/1.

Bet on the women’s 50m freestyle

The last option we’ll look at to bet on the FINA Championship in 2017 is on the highly anticipated 50m women’s freestyle event. This will begin on the 29th. 10 women are competing for the championship, but in the end only one will win.

Sarah Sjostrom is at the top of the FINA Championship betting odds, according to Paddy Power. She already set the world record in the relay freestyle event, making her one of the best young female swimmers alive right now. Sjostrom’s odds are set at 1/10.

Every other swimmer comes into this event as a considerable underdog, but some swimming betting experts feel Pernille Blume has a shot at pulling off the upset, though the oddsmakers seem to disagree as she’s being given odds of just 9/2.
