Golfer Tiger Woods has been going through some personal issues in recent months, and unfortunately, the negative publicity he received lead to the loss of most of his major sponsorships, including deals with Gatorade, Accenture, and AT&T. Gillette kept Woods’ sponsorship deal alive, but remains weary of using his image in advertisements. Before taking a break from golf in December 2009, Woods was earning $100m annually in endorsement deals, but many have since turned sour.

In March, Paddy Power sportsbook approached the golfer with a 5 year, $75m proposal, which he promptly turned down. This week another 5 year offer appeared – this time from Bodog , a group which offers internet gambling in the United States. The deal is for $100 million, and interestingly, it includes a “no moral judgment clause” which says that the sponsorship will continue even in the athlete continues to partake in extra-marital affairs or other such activities. The deal, according to Bodog, “will be honoured without condition on the player's moral conduct”.

“BodogBrand believes you should do whatever it takes to be world number one and will back Tiger Woods to the tune of $100,000,000 to do just that no matter what allegations – substantiated or otherwise – appear during the five-year deal.”

Woods returned to golf last month, playing in the US Masters after taking some time off from the game. If he accepts the offer from Bodog, it will be a huge step on his journey towards retake his place at the top of the golf world, and golf fans will be sure to find competitive odds on Woods at Bodog’s online sportsbook in the USA

A recent post on Calvin Ayre’s blog put the offer in very clear terms: “It’s time, Tiger. Time to come home. Bodog Brand is offering you its hand. Take it.”
