Those who haven’t watched football for too long and just took it up last season, might think I’m crazy, but here is the deal: Claudio Ranieri is one of the worst Premier League managers ever.

And not only one of the worst Premier League managers ever. He’s one of the worst managers in football history. Online sportsbooks in the UK would have begged to differ at this point in the previous season, and yes, I admit: what Claudio Ranieri has done to Leicester City has been a miracle.

It was wonderful: they were not the strongest or the best or the richest team, yet they managed to surprise everyone by clinching the trophy as they were the most reliable and convincing team throughout 38 match days. Yet, Claudio Ranieri is one of the worst Premier League managers ever. Let me explain you.

Ranieri failed wherever he managed

The first interesting moment in his managerial career was at Atletico Madrid, whom they joined upon leaving Valencia. This season’s Champions League semi-finalists relegated that year, but Ranieri left the sinking boat before the catastrophe happened. He went on to Chelsea for 4 years. Shortly after his arrival came Roman Abramovich, allowing Ranieri to spend a fortune on building up the strongest team in Premier League.

Of course Ranieri was incapable of that. Online sportsbooks have expected his departure which arrived soon enough: José Mourinho replaced him and won the Premier League to the club. Ranieri returned to Valencia only to be fired in a year. And we can recall what happened to Leicester City as well: they miraculously won the Premier League, but have been fighting relegation the very next season. And it’s all thanks to one of the worst managers in Premier League history: Claudio Ranieri.
