Massive 42% increase in Delaware's gambling revenues brings hope to lost city.

Online poker and iGaming revenues have taken a turn for the better in Delaware. The Delaware Lottery especially, made it into the US gambling news recently. They managed to go from an all-time low of $130,469 the previous month, to a surprising 42% increase in overall gambling revenues end November.

Delaware started out its online gaming operations just over a year ago, in November 2013 and was under the weight of heavy losses for the 3rd quarter of 2014. Just last month they only managed to scrape up a mere $130,268 in earnings.

A year later, Delaware Park, Harrington Raceway and Dover Downs pulled in $184,898. Even though this doesn’t reach the $240,762 high back in April 2014, it still is a promising sign. However, new internet signups are down with only 308 players registered compared to 1,336 players in December 2013.

Delaware Park dominates

Hats off to Delaware Park though, which dominates 2/3 of the market, generating revenues of $122,894, over a one-month period. Dover Downs was only able to come up with $31,421 and Harrington Raceway an even lower $30,582.

Even online poker is on the rise in Delaware. There was a hefty fifteen percent increase in operating revenues at the same period. This means they upped from $28,465 to $32,814, in just over a month. A year ago though iPoker raked in $106,922 in the same month.

Other gambling states, as approved by US gambling laws, weren’t quite as lucky. iGaming revenue in New Jersey fell 8.4% to $8.7m, for the month of November. Online poker rooms earning went down to $1.87m. Casino revenues decreased to $6.87m, from $7.5m but hey, all is not lost - some lucky player managed to win a whopping $1.3m slots jackpot!
