  • 2022 Atlanta Open is held this week, 25-31 July at Atlantic Station
  • The ATP 250 tournament is the first event in the lead to the US Open
  • John Isner is the defending champion who can win his 7th title now
With tennis players focusing more and more on their hard-court performance, the 2022 Atlanta Open is another great opportunity to practice. John Isner is the defending champion of the ATP 250 tournament which is held this week, 25-31 July at the Atlantic Station. The 2022 ATP Atlanta winner odds favor the runner-up of this year’s Wimbledon, Nick Kyrgios ahead of the US favorites.  The North American hard-court season starts this week in Atlanta where the 12th Atlanta Open is held. The ATP 250 tournament was moved here from Indianapolis which hosted the event between 1988 and 2009. American players have performed exceptionally well here after winning 9 times out of the 11 occasions. John Isner has been the best of them with his six wins. While he is also the defending champion. Only two Australian players, Nick Kyrgios and Alex de Minaur could break the American winning streak. Both of them will compete in this year’s event along with Isner and other US favorites. Like the top seed, Reilly Opelka, and young talents, Sebastian Korda, Jenson Brooksby, and Brandon Nakashima.

Kyrgios Lead the 2022 ATP Atlanta Winner Odds Ahead of 6-Time Winner

Nick Kyrgios has reached the best result of his career in the 2022 Wimbledon Championship where he played in his first Grand Slam final. Even though he lost there against Novak Djokovic, the Australian gave a superb performance at the All England Club. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj-lcjITs30 He is only the seventh seed of the Atlanta Open but online sportsbooks in the US offer the smallest odds, +450.00 for his victory. This is not surprising based on his current season with a 21-7 record and three semi-finals. Kyrgios also won here before, in 2016 when he defeated John Isner in the final.  The 37-year-old American is the most successful player in the history of this tournament with six wins and 3 more runner-up finishes. Looks like he is specialized in this event but he also got 10 more ATP Tour wins from other tournaments. Isner won both the Indian Wells Masters and the Miami Open in doubles in 2022. While in singles his best result has been a runner-up finish in the US Men’s Clay Court Championship back in April. The world No25 got to the third round in Wimbledon where he lost against Janik Sinner. His odds to win this weekend are +600.00 in the 2022 ATP Atlanta winner odds.

Opelka and Other US Players’ Chances

We can find another Australian player in the former winners of the tournament. Alex de Minaur who won the event in 2019. The world No30 reached the semi-finals of three events this season, but his last victory is from last June in Eastbourne. The 23-year-old is the fourth seed and has the odds of +700.00 for another victory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2VlOIMykSZc The top seed, Reilly Opelka is also mentioned among the favorites by online gambling sites in the US. The American player won two ATP 250 tournaments this season. Both on US soil and on hard court. His odds to get the win now are +800.00.  Opelka’s compatriots, Jenson Brooksby and Brandon Nakashima can also perform well in front of the home fans. Brooksby reached the final in Dallas this year, where he was beaten by Opelka. The 21-year-old player made his top 35 debut in the world rankings this year. And he also reached the fourth round in two Masters. The six seed of the tournament will have a tough opening game though against French Benoit Paire. Another young US player, Nakashima reached the final here last year. And has the odds of +1000.00 to win the open now. Similar odds are offered for the victory of Sebastian Korda, who has one ATP Tour title so far. The 22-year-old can meet another American player, Frances Tiafoe in the second round who is also aiming for his second victory.
