Big Show’s Cringeworthy Wrestling Injury

We are talking about the greatest athlete in the world. Paul Donald Wight Jr., aka Big Show, is 50 years old and retired from WWE only a year ago. Big Show was one of those wrestlers who were very difficult to lift from the ground, even a little bit, but Kevin Nash managed it back in 1998 in WCW. During the match between the two, Kevin Nash gave Big Show a Powerbomb that landed on his head and almost broke his neck. It must have been a horrible moment for him and the audience too, but luckily the giant athlete survived one of the most cringeworthy wrestling injuries!

Brock Lesnar Almost Broke His Neck!

Many of you may not have seen Brock Lesnar in the ring before since he was in the UFC for a while, but according to 22Bet Sportsbook, he will rejoin WWE. He was a beast in the ring, performing extremely rough moves. During his WWE career, he often finished with Suplexes and F5s. Brock Lesnar entered the ring against Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 19. Due to a wrong move, Brock also almost broke his neck. This was the Shooting Star Press move, incredibly spectacular but dangerous. Lesnar does look like he could win against a tank, but it was a scary moment when he landed on his head after jumping from the ropes because Angle rolled out of the way.

Cringeworthy Wrestling Injuries - Mick Foley

The following event happened a long time ago, so you might not have seen it. This was the Mick Foley against Undertaker, Hell In A Cell match in 1998, where Foley received a Chokeslam from Undertaker on the top of the cage. However, they did not plan for it to tear. The roof of the cage broke, and Foley suffered such a fall that the ring also broke but luckily, the doctors arrived quickly and intervened. During a wrestling event, it’s not apparent when the athletes are in danger, which makes cringeworthy wrestling injuries even scarier!

Randy Orton was Thrown Down the Stairs!

Injuries are not rare in the crazy world of WWE, but some stand out. Randy Orton and Wade Barrett participated in a Falls Count Everywhere match in Indianapolis, but the match ended badly. The fight between the two pro wrestlers began in the ring, but Wade throw Orton down the stairs. The audience watched the events on the big screen in shock, and later the entire Internet was full of rumors that Randy Orton's back was badly injured, and he could not participate in the House shows for an unknown period of time. A few days later, a statement was published on WWE's official website claiming that Randy needed to rest before beginning rehabilitation, which includes medication and physical therapy. Randy was in great pain, which caused weakness in his legs. His most recent back injury happened in May, but it is still unclear when he can come back. Check out the odds of him participating in the next Royal Rumble in January at 22Bet Sportsbook!

Stone Cold Steve Austin

Again, it is an accident that happened a long time ago. Stone Cold Austen just entered the ring against Owen Hart, who almost broke Cold's neck due to a poorly performed move. He suffered a bruised spinal column which paralyzed him temporarily. The incredible thing about this is that Austin left the ring on his own two feet after the fight and survived the extraordinary accident. Both wrestlers knew after the drop that something went wrong when Austin told Hart that he couldn’t feel his fingers. Steve Austin, who has since then become a popular actor, turned into a more technical wrestler after the cringeworthy wrestling injury.

David Arquette’s Cringeworthy Wrestling Injury

David Arquette, Courteney Cox's ex-husband and Sheriff Dewey from the Scream series, became a wrestler in 2000 and immediately won several prestigious matches. In 2018, David took part in a non-traditional game where his opponent his head with a neon tube that accidentally hit a vein in his neck. Seeing the blood, he left the ring in a hurry but came back soon. Despite the fright, it was not a severe injury. According to online sportsbook sites in the US, they even shot a documentary of him that is titled You Cannot Kill David Arquette.

Tragic Events

Unfortunately, there were occasions when the wrestlers didn’t make it out of the ring. The fatal kick was delivered by Mexico's icon, Rey Mysterio, who won multiple world titles in the biggest organizations, the WCW and WWE. In the team match in Tijuana, Mysterio dropkicked Perro Aguayo, who immediately collapsed, but they thought it was part of the fight.

The terror started after the gong sounded because Aguayo did not move, and as it turned out later, he suffered brain injuries during the move, from which he died. Silver King’s last match is another sad story. The former WCW masked wrestler collapsed in the ring during the show in London. For a while, the audience thought it was part of the show that he could not get back on his feet, but it soon became clear that there was a big problem. The death of Cesar Barron, Silver King’s real name, was presumably caused by a heart attack. The judge tried to do CPR but was not successful. The ambulance arrived minutes later, but they couldn't help either. The show was interrupted, and the audience had to leave. The athlete, who also appeared in movies, was 51 years. Even though wrestling is brutal, extreme sports deaths occur more frequently!
