With the World Series of Poker behind us, and the final table, aka the November Nine, is not to be decided until, well, November, poker enthusiasts are looking at where to play live game at American poker rooms and elsewhere in the world.

This selection will guide readers through the best and the biggest live poker tournaments held under American gambling laws and on the international arena this week. The tournaments are broken down by location to make the choices easier for our faithful readers.

Heading overseas to play poker? You might want to check out the 2014 LAPT 7 Panama at the Veneto Hotel in Panama City, held all the way until July 27th. The latest stop on the Latin American Poker Tour will offer lots of tourneys to choose from, but the highlight of the poker action will be the $1,700 NLHE Main Event with two starting days, the first of which falls on July 23rd.

The Beijing Star Poker Room is already hosting the 2014 APPT Beijing Millions, and the series will go on until July 27th there. The Asia Pacific Poker Tour will offer a great Main Event in Beijing with several starting flights all the way until the 26th. The final table is scheduled for the 27th until the winner is decided.

Close by is the 2014 APT Cambodia, held until July 30th at the Queenco Casino & Hotel in Sihanoukvile, Cambodia. It is the latest stop on the Asian Poker Tour calendar, hosting the $1,100 NLHE Main Event from July 26th.

The Italian Poker Tour will be stopping at Saint-Vincent Resort & Casino in Northwestern Italy for the 2014 IPT Saint Vincent held between July 23rd and 28th. The Main Event will have two starting days on the 24th and the 25th. The EUR 1,100 NLHE tourney will be held all the way until the champion is decided on the 28th.

British Isles will witness the 2014 Genting Poker Series Newcastle between July 23rd and 27th at the Genting Casino in Newcastle upon Tyne. The GBP 440 NLHE Main Event offers three starting flights anticipating lots of participants thanks to a rather low buy-in price.

Live poker tourneys in the South

Back to American soil, there will be quite a few tournaments held this week with some of them offering qualifiers and satellites at online poker sites in the United States. Starting with the southern states we will find the 2014 Card Player Poker Tour II taking place at the Choctaw Casino Resort until August 4th. This massive series features 81 events with 39 of them offering guaranteed prizepools up to $200,000.

This week the biggest events will be the $200,000 guaranteed $570 buy-in NLHE tourney on the 26th, and the $150,000 guaranteed $450 buy-in NLHE kicking off on the 25th. The main attraction of the series is of course the $500,000 guaranteed $1,620 CPPT Main Events starting a bit later on August 1st.

Midwest poker tournaments

Going over to Midwest, it’s worth looking at the 2014 Denny Crum Poker Open held until August 2nd at the Horseshoe Southern Indiana in Elizabeth. This is a 21-event series, where the early highlight is the five-day NLHE tourney with $230 buy-in kicking off at noon on the 23rd.

Northeast poker tournaments

Those Americans who want to play poker online in 2014 can only do so in a limited number of places, one of them is the Northeastern state of New Jersey. Online qualifiers are also open for the 2014 Borgata $150K Guarantee Tournament held between July 27th and 29th. The $400 buy-in tourney has two starting days, with survivors from those convening on the 29th to contest the grand prize.

The 2014 Summer Slam at the Seneca Niagara Casino and Hotel in Niagara Falls will be hosted between July 25th and August 3rd. There will be eight events in the series with the main attraction being the $300,000 guaranteed NLHE starting on the 26th. The Main Event has a smaller prizepool - $100,000 and begins on August 1st.

Nevada poker tournaments

Nevada will also be hosting some live tourneys this week, namely the 2014 Classic Fun Pot of Gold between the 23rd and the 27th. The 9 event series is held at the Grand Sierra Resort and Casino in Reno and features several $200,000 guaranteed tournaments including NLHE, Omaha, and 8-or-better.

Florida poker tourneys

Last, but not least is the 2014 Little Slick Summer Poker Series held at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino Tampa between July 22nd and 27th. The biggest attraction is the $125 buy-in NLHE event with $100,000 guaranteed pool. It will have eight starting flights, two each day. The final is scheduled for July 27th.
