The last major tournament of the 2022 LPGA Tour, the Women’s British Open is held this week, between 4-7 August at Muirfield in Scotland. 144 players will compete for the major title and their share of the $6,8 million prize fund. Anna Nordqvist is the defending champion and she will compete again this year. Along with top players of the world rankings, Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko. Both of them are mentioned as the top favorites in the 2022 AIG Women's Open prediction. The first Women’s Open was held 46 years ago, in 1976, but it only became a major championship in 2001. Each year it is organized at different venues. This year Murfield will host it for the first time in the tournament’s history.
