Group C could provide the most spectacular game of the tournament featuring Neymar and James.

The most important soccer competition of the summer will be the 44th edition of the Copa America, which will be held in Chile. US punters will benefit from the kick off times, and it will be a perfect opportunity for them to bet on the games too. Though US gambling laws vary from state to state, those who live in a place with legalized sports betting could use this pieces before placing a wager on any of the matches.

4. Neymar

Brazil’s number one player might have extra motivations as he missed the last matches of the World Cup last year because of a back injury, and his team suffered one of the harshest defeats in football history without him. However, Neymar is better than ever and this year at Barcelona he easily doubled his tally from last season. He will miss that kind of support he enjoys at Barca obviously, but Brazil could benefit from his individual talent anyways.
• Neymar’s going for a revenge
• James to thrive again?
• Anybody could surprise you expect Paraguay

In the group stage Colombia will be a tough opponent, but he will clearly fancy some kind of a revenge, as he suffered his serious injury against them in the quarter finals of last year’s World Cup. The organized teams of Peru and Venezuela impressed most fans and pundits four years ago, but according to the odds at online sportsbooks in the US, it would be a considerable surprise if either of them would be able to repeat that performance.

So, goals are expected from Neymar in any of the group games, and if he can maintain his form he showed in the season, he could have a similar run to the one Robinho enjoyed in 2007. Back then the former Real Madrid player scored six goals in the competition, deciding two group games by himself, and Brazil won their eighth title, which is their last to date.

5. James Rodriguez

The other heavyweight in Group C is Colombia, and their top asset is Real Madrid’s most recent galactico, James Rodriguez. He showed at last year’s World Cup in Brazil that he can produce goals at ease when playing at the highest possible level. He not just picked up the Golden Boots of the tournament with six goals, but that unbelievable one that he scored against Uruguay in the round of 16 earned him the Puskas Award being the most beautiful goal was scored in 2014 around the world.

Since being capable of things like that, goals are expected from him, and he is able to beat any defender in the tournament. Colombia’s encounter against Brazil in the group stage expected to be a candidate for the most spectacular game of the Copa. If the two teams avoid that awful gameplan they used in their World Cup match that led to basically kicking each other during the whole game, it could well be an unforgettable game indeed.

It could be even a goal scoring duel between Neymar and James, and the two could continue their race in the scoring competition against the other teams. For Venezuela and Peru, it will be a hard task to manage James, to limit his opportunities. We should consider that Juan Guillermo Cuadrado and either Jackson Martinez or Radamel Falcao, maybe both will be there to engage defenders, so James Rodriguez could thrive in the summer once again.

The others

Paolo Guerrero
Mexico have a considerable pool of talented forwards with the likes of Javier Hernandez, Giovanni dos Santos and Oribe Peralta, but they strength is in team work rather than stunning attacking football and scoring many goals. Ecuador will need goals from someone like Enner Valencia to be in contention for advancing to the knockout phase, but they don’t have the attacking quality comparable to the names above.

Paraguay is not known from their spectacular play, however they have decent forwards in Roque Santa Cruz, Nelson Haedo Valdez and Oscar Cardozo. As they usually play their unbearable defensive football, they are not expected to score a lot of goals. Paolo Guerrero can be Peru’s best marksman if he will get a similar support from Juan Manuel Vargas and co. to the one he received four years ago, but he is still not a possible top scorer.

As Copa America is all about goals in the end, basically anyone could surprise the mobile betting audience with a perfectly placed shot or an unbelievable trick. However, before placing a bet on the matches, and browsing the goal scorers market, you should always consider the names mentioned in these couple of pieces, as the tournament’s top scorer should be one of them.
