The Season 11 of Afreeca Starleague will officially start on 28 March and it will finish in early June. According to online sportsbooks news in South Korea, the prize pool is around $70 thousand, with the winner taking the lion’s share of $26 thousand. 24 players will compete offline at the Afreeca Colosseum in Seoul.

Among the 24 players, ZerO, Soma, and Larva who dominated the previous two seasons that took place in 2020 are all in the mix. As AfreecaTV Starleague S11 odds suggest, one of them will most likely capture the title by the end of the season. The tournament will go through two group stages, before the knockout stage of the quarter-finals. So, here is a brief for the three favorites and also the top underdogs who can make an upset.

ZerO won seasons 9 and 10 in 2020

Kim “ZerO” Myung Woon is one of the most popular players at AfreecaTV StarCraft Starleague. He is the defending champion and one of the well-experienced players at the age of 31. In 2020 two seasons took place and ZerO perfectly managed to win both titles. He did it against Soma in the final of season 9 and against Light, another great player in the final of season 10.

Will ZerO retain the championship? AfreecaTV Starleague S11 odds indicate he is capable of doing so with a 3.50 value at Bet365 Sportsbook. He is certainly the player to beat in the tournament, but of course, there are legitimate challengers for the title.

Soma has become the top challenger in the last two years

Park “Soma” Sang Hyun who has retired from StarCraft programming to join SouLGaming is the top challenger. His level of performance has increased considerably in the last two years. Thus, Soma finished fourth in season 9, before reaching the final in season 10 only to lose against ZerO. Should Soma prevail this season, his odds at online sportsbooks in South Korea are 5.50.

AfreecaTV Starleague S11 odds give a chance to Larva

Lim “Larva” Hong Gyu, 26, has been competing at the AfreecaTV StarCraft Starleague for a long time. However, he never won the title and his best finish was fourth place in seasons 10 and 4. Thus, he must be hungrier than all the rest of the contenders to make a mark and achieve his first title with 6.50 odds.

Three underdogs who may make an upset

Other than the well-known top favorites in the StarCraft game, there are few other contenders who may have a chance to make an upset. Lee “Light” Jae Ho is one of them with a 7.00 value at AfreecaTV Starleague S11 odds. Another one is Kim “EffOrt” Jung Woo (8.00) a popular streamer at Afreeca and a strong contender.
