Globe 40 Race

Globe40 is a sailing competition divided into eight stages, targeting new locations like Mauritius, Papeete, and Ushuaia, which mixes racing with the experience of discovery. It is organized by Manfred Ramspacher, with 12 qualifiers, and the competition started on June 26, 2022. Two-thirds of their two-million-euro budget was provided by the host cities, so even if they don’t have a brand as a sponsor, they will still be able to keep the competition going. Two-person embarked on the adventure.

The Globe40 was supposed to start in 2021, but it was postponed. In turn, it was put in the same year as the Route du Rhum, and Class 40 withdrew from the former. So now The Race Around is the only around-the-world sailing race in their calendar. Hugh Piggin and Sam Holliday co-founded The Race Around, starting in September 2023, the four stages of which recall the BOC Challenge regatta that ran in the eighties. The budget is 8.6 million euros, 95% of the amount comes from private partners, and they expect about 40 ships.

Around the World Sailing Races

The first Golden Globe Race, aka GGR, proved to be a great success. So they organized it again on September 4, 2022, two months later than in 2018. The strict restrictions on equipment remain, but communication is opening up to modernity. Each competitor can have a satellite connection with the mainland twice a week for twenty minutes. During this, they can send photos home or give interviews.

Les Sables d’Olonne, where the race starts, takes the event and the regatta so seriously that after 100,000 euros in the first round, they supported it with 350,000 euros this year. Don McIntyre, the main organizer, had a millions of dollars budget. Seventeen skippers took off in September. According to McIntyre, if someone had a boat that matched the requirements, the contestants “only” needed a budget of €60,000.

McIntyre is also credited with the Ocean Globe Race, aka OGR, which aims to recreate the Whitbread regatta. It will take off in the summer of 2023, the fiftieth anniversary of the first race. So far, 25 boats have applied in four categories, including L’esprit d’équipe, the 1985 Whitbread French winner, and Mor Bihan, a 1981 participant.

We can also expect Maxi yachts, Volvo 60s, as well as Swan 65 and 651 sailboats in the Sayula class. The most interesting category is where the conditions are similar to the past since the teams can only use paper maps and sextants for navigation.

The Volvo Ocean Around the World Sailing Race

The start of the former Volvo Ocean Race and Whitbread Around The World has been postponed a bit. Instead of autumn 2022, the boats will start only in January 2023. The race distance, which has been modified several times, will be 55.7 thousand miles according to the current ideas.

The Ocean Race 2022-23 Proposed Schedule will start January 15 in Alicante. On January 25, they will begin the second stage, arriving in Cape Town on February 9. The remaining stages will take off on February 26-27, April 23, May 21, June 8, June 15, and finally, July 1 will be the last port race. Check out the details, odds, and program at 22Bet Sportsbook! Vendée Globe

The Vendée Globe, a solo, around-the-world sailing race, takes 67 days to complete. Verne would be proud! If someone manages to reach the finish, that is. This is the hardest sailing race in the world, where the competitors have to push their limits as far as humanly possible.

The Vendée Globe is a round-the-world solo sailing race. The boat and its one-person crew travel non-stop, without assistance or mooring. The competition was founded by Philippe Jeantot in 1989 and has been held every four years since 1992. The Vendée Globe is unique in the strictness of its requirements among round-the-world sailing races.

For example, the single-person Velux 5 Oceans Race circles the Earth in stages with the option of mooring. The Vendée Globe is, according to online sportsbook sites in the Philippines, the most extreme test of endurance for a sailer and the toughest type of ocean racing. Fans can follow them every hour of the Vendée Globe excellently on the official pages and some betting sites, photos, videos, and boat tracking. The competitors can even make live videos from the deck of the racing boats thousands of miles away. If you are interested, find them at 22Bet Sportsbook!
