The biggest tournament in European basketball has been underway for months, and members of NetBet Sportsbook can now bet on the EuroLeague winner!

The EuroLeague, also known as the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, was created in May of 2000 as a way to pit all of Europe’s best basketball teams against each other. The 17th season of the tournament is officially underway, and European basketball fans can already bet on the outright winner. Let’s take a look at some of the betting favorites.

CSKA Moscow: 27/20

As the reigning champions, and one of the most successful teams in the EuroLeague, CSKA Moscow is the current favorite to win the 2016-17 EuroLeague Championship. The Moscow-based team has been one of the premier basketball teams in Europe for years, as well as the best-funded.

Current coach Dimitrios Itoudis has helped to lead the team to the top, winning the past 3 Russian championships, as well as the EuroLeague gold medal in 2015-16. The team has also had numerous matches against NBA teams, many of which they won, including a 2010 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

If you’re looking to bet on the EuroLeague winner, CSKA Moscow may be your best option. Unlike many European countries, Russia has a strong passion for basketball, and their team is made up of a number of international players with strong credentials. Moscow’s odds to win the EuroLeague are currently set at 27/20, according to NetBet Sportsbook.

Real Madrid: 7/2

While CSKA Moscow may be the current champions, Real Madrid hold the record for most EuroLeague title wins. There is no better team is Spain at the moment, as they have won 33 Spanish championships and a total of 9 EuroLeague titles.

Some star players that have been with Real Madrid include Arvydas Sabonis, Drazen Petrovic, and Juan Antonio Corbalan. Pablo Laso has been the head coach since 2011, and has led his team to 3 Spanish League Championships and 1 EuroLeague title.

It’s never a bad wager to bet on Real Madrid winning the EuroLeague. They have recruited a number of talented players from the US and Croatia over the years, and currently hold the second-highest odds to win the title this year at 7/2.

Fenerbahce Ulker: 9/2

It may come as a surprise to some that Fenerbahce Ulker is one of the favorites to win the 2017 EuroLeague. The Istanbul-based team has long been considered the best in Turkey, but hasn’t found much success in the EuroLeague, only reaching the finals once, which they lost to CSKA Moscow 96-101.

Nonetheless, almost all online sportsbooks in Spain list them as one of the EuroLeague betting favorites. Under the tutelage of Serbian head coach Željko Obradović, they have become an international powerhouse, reaching the final four in every major Turkish competition and the EuroLeague.

NetBet Sportsbook lists Fenerbahce Ulker’s odds to win the EuroLeague at 9/2. It would be a monumental accomplishment if they can get the win. An underdog bet on the EuroLeague winner can definitely pay off here.

Olympiakos: 10/1

The last team we’ll take a look at is Piraeus-based Green team Olympiakos. The team has made Spanish gambling news by emerging as one of the Greece betting favorites to win the EuroLeague over fellow Green powerhouse Panathinaikos despite holding an identical record this season at 9-5.

Olympiakos is one of the oldest basketball teams in Europe. They were founded in 1931, and have grown to become one of the most successful club teams on the continent. Unlike many European teams, Olympiakos’ roster is made up almost entirely of domestic players, as is their coach, Ioannis Sfairopoulas.

They have already qualified for the playoffs, and it would be a major surprise at this point no to see Olympiakos reach the final four. Any basketball fans looking to bet on the EuroLeague winner should consider going with this amazing Greek team with odds of 10/1.
