12 entries remain in the Punchestown Champion Chase and Hidden Cyclone is now backed at 3/1 to win the two mile steeplechase.

Scheduled to take place from Tuesday 29th April to Saturday 3rd May, the Punchestown Irish National Hunt Festival sponsored by Boylesports is the highlight of the Irish gambling news and sporting calendar.

Thousands of punters are expected to place their wagers on the big race and online sportsbooks in Ireland are getting ready. Baily Green and English raiders Module and Somersby are given 5/1 chances to win, while David Pipe’s Ballynagour is priced at 7/1.

Alan King is hoping for another win with Balder Succes, following the victory at Aintree, but bookies only give him a 8/1 chance. Another horse backed at 8/1 is Twinlight, trained by Willie Mullins. His stable mate, Turban, is priced at 20/1.

Hidden Cyclone, best backed horse

Rider Tony Martin will be running with Savello (16/1), trainer Henry De Bromhead has entered Days Hotel (25/1) into the big race, and Mouse Morris trained Rathlin (25/1) will also be running.

“Hidden Cyclone is by far the best backed horse in the Ante Post market having been installed at 5/1 and he remains our biggest liability,” Boylesports PR Executive Liam Glynn told reporters.

“Twinlight has seen some shrewd each way support and has now halved in price into 8/1 having been installed at 16/1 when the race was priced up just over two weeks ago,” he added.
