Boyle Sports, Irish sports betting company, conveys ambitions to operate on the UK market, after it acquired Tom Flood Bookmakers last year.

John Boyle, the owner of the group, set the company’s five-years plan, which includes walking into the intense UK market. Currently, Boyle Sports operates 192 retail betting properties in Ireland, with over 1,200 employees and a turnover of more than 1 billion euro/year.

Additionally, the company operates online and mobile casinos, offering wide variety of games on all possible devices.

Boyle ambitions for the UK market are very serious

Boyle commented that his interest in the UK desktop and mobile betting market had been constant before the recession. He added: “If the right acquisition knocked on our door, we’re looking for opportunities over there, so we expect in the next five years to have a presence in retail. You don’t know what opportunities are going to knock on your door.”

The tycoon also said that: “There’s three, four, different companies that could become available over the next number of years, and if you can show that you are good at retail in Ireland, you can do it anywhere in the world.”

The UK interest does not mean that Boyle will be leaving the Irish gambling scene. He expressed an opinion that the Irish market can take up to 250 shops, 40 of which located in Dublin.
