Let’s all give a huge applaud to the heroic Brian Masse, who wants to expand sports betting in Canada by introducing a new bill.

Canadian gambling laws strictly regulate sports betting in Canada which basically makes it impossible to play at online sportsbook. That is what Brian Masse is completely against and hopes to change in the near future with the help of his bill plan, Bill C-290, which is still waiting for acceptance.

According to Bill C-290, it would not be illegal any longer to bet on single game sports, which would be much easier to all sports betting players. So far, they can only make parlay or multiple wagers at their provincial lottery providers. People who are in favour of the bill reason that C-290 would cause economic boost and would create at least 250 new jobs in the North American country.

Will sports betting in Canada be completely legal?

Nobody knows that for sure. The bill has several supporters, including Brian Masse and Joe Comartin, who both believe that the bill would have several positive impacts within the country. However, the Senate still seems to be inconvincible and unable to make a change, and after all, it’s them who make the big decisions. Bill C-290 has been introduced back in the end of 2011. It seemed to be an easy way until becoming law since the bill was accepted by all parties of the house until it arrived to the Senate in 2012.

However, the whole process died and had to be started over because the 42nd general elections were held in the meantime. Masse and Comartin still have hopes that the Senate will accept the bill to allow Canadians to bet on sports /a>more freely.
