But after the Golden Generation retired, the level of their football declined. They haven’t been able to qualify for any major tournaments since 2004. During this qualification period, they weren’t brilliant either. They finished fourth in Group A behind England, the Czech Republic, and even Kosovo. They lost a friendly game against Belarus last week, which was their seventh defeat from their last nine games. But we shouldn’t forget that they will play at home, which is always an advantage. What’s more, Hungary is not doing too great on away games without the support of their fanatic fans.
