Crazy Stories From The Gambling World – A House For a Jackpot

There is always someone who volunteers for any craziness but selling your house so you can risk the money for only one roulette spin, you would probably think it too extreme. However, you would be wrong. Ashley Revell tried her luck big time when she arrived in Las Vegas with $ 136,000 and gave herself only one chance at winning. She bet all of the money on red and won $270,000. Ashley gave the dealer a tip and left the table. She used the money to invest in her own poker company. Simon Cowell, the television producer, created a new show, Red or Black, inspired by Ashley’s story.

Crazy Stories From the Gambling World – It Takes Only One Spin

A few years ago, Jake Cody, a British poker player, did something crazy cool. All the money he won at a poker competition, 42,670 pounds, he staked upon a single cast. Why is it one of our crazy stories from the gambling world? Because he won, and it only took one spin at the roulette table! Cody participated in a Nottingham poker tournament in 2018, where he won the grand prize. Instead of being satisfied, he decided to make more with it at a roulette table. Not just gambling with a part of it, no, he risked every last penny. There is hardly a more reckless decision out there, but the crazy thing is that it worked. So, after all, it was more courageous and less reckless. We can consider him lucky for certain since he won twice in two different gambling games and doubled his original prize. Don’t Steal

Kerry Johnson went to a casino back in 2016 to sit back and play blackjack. However, police came soon and accused him of robbery. According to reports, he played, robbed, escaped, then came back and continued playing. After they caught him, it turned out that they accused him of robbing a bank as well.

Witnesses claimed that they so Kerry leave the blackjack table. Then he went into the bank and demanded money. He even threatened to use his bomb and weapon. Then came the crazy part of the story. After getting the money, he went back to the casino, cool as a cucumber, and started playing. They identified and arrested him. First, he denied everything, but after the police searched his apartment, they found lots of cash stuffed into the couch. Other than this, detectives could prove with security camera tapes that he left the casino even though he sweated he didn’t. The moral of the story? Don’t steal, or you’ll go to jail!

Losing $ 112 Million Is No Fun

Harry Watanabe opened a gift shop back in the 30s, which turned into one of the most successful shops in the world. Sadly this is not one of the happy ending crazy stories from the gambling world. When his son took over the company, he sold all of his shares, but he had an alcohol and gambling addiction. It led to enormous financial problems. He went to Las Vegas in 2007 and started throwing money away in handfuls. He lost more than $ 200 million! Six percent of one of the casinos’ profit came from his money. That’s an awful lot of money. When he couldn’t pay, Harrah sued Watanabe, who accepted the offer of paying back $ 112 million instead of the whole amount.

However, the case got even more ugly when Watanabe claimed that Harrah, aware of his addiction problems, used it against him and offered drinks, as well as egged him on to bet more and more. A casino employee admitted that Watanabe lost $5 million per day, and they allowed him to play at three tables at the same time, even though he was intoxicated. So Watanabe also sued Harrah, but they settled the matter among themselves, and the trial ended before it began. However, the series of unfortunate events didn’t stop there for him. Find out more about him at online casino sites in the US. One thing is beyond doubt. He is one of the most unfortunate men ever.

Famous Gambler

One of the most successful basketball players, Michael Jordan, loves to gamble. You can find several crazy gambling stories about him, like the story surrounding his retirement from the NBA. Rumor has it he had to leave because the NBA couldn’t deal with his gradually growing addiction, and they worried that it was going to get out of hand. We don’t know whether that’s true or not, but it’s a fact that he took every opportunity he could to bet. Even betting in $ 900 that his luggage would appear first on the baggage belt. Since at least 40 members were with him, it was a risky move or would have been one. He won, of course, but his teammates didn’t know that he asked the airport employees to load his bags first. From insignificant wagers to bigger bets, probably the craziest was when he lost $ 300,000 on a golf match. If you want to know more about Michael Jordan’s gambling stories, check out the article.

Crazy Stories From The Gambling World

This event isn’t exactly a crazy story from the gambling world per se, but it is about a casino robbery that would be a shame to leave out. The police arrested a Las Vegas pastor because he robbed a casino three times. Gregory Bolusant was armed on his first try and threatened an employee to give him the money, but she ran away, and Blousant had to leave empty-handed. The second time he succeeded.

He went back with the same car, in the same outfit, and stole $ 29,000. He went back for the third time and almost stole $ 33,000, but he couldn’t escape. The security guards got him and took him to the police station. It turned out that he was the Grace Bible Church’s pastor, and the gun was not even real. The peculiar thing is that his wife worked there so, she might have had a crucial role in the robbery, and that’s why he went back there three times in a row.

115 Hours Poker Game

After 24-30 hours of wakefulness, you usually collapse from tiredness, and your body starts to shut down, demanding sleep. So what do you think of going almost five days without sleeping and, to make matters more complicated, playing poker non-stop? A famous poker player, Phil Laak, set the Guinness World Record of Poker Endurance when he played for 115 hours straight. He did this incredible performance for charity, and by the end of the fifth day, he finished with $ 6,766. That’s amazing if you think about it. Not only did he manage to stay awake, but he also kept using his brain for the whole time without coffee or energy drinks. He had a nutritionist to keep him fed and awake and kept five-minute breaks every hour, but he still took other bets. At one point, an opponent challenged him to make 30 push-ups for $ 1000. It was all for a good cause, so he did everything in his power and succeeded!

A Millionaire in a Few Seconds

Harold McDowell, a pensioner, is the proud owner of a crazy story from the gambling world. He got his happy end when he turned his five dollars into a million. Mr. McDowell bet five dollars at a six-card poker table and saw that his hand was a royal straight flush. The odds of getting those cards was 1 in 20,348,320. As you can see, it’s not common. To double the joy, his wife got declared cancer-free a day before the big day. If you believe in luck, then you can say that Mr. McDowell was one lucky guy. He certainly was at the right place, at the right time, since this was the only time when someone got this hand. Try Intertops Casino and write your own success story.

Crazy Stories From the Gambling World – Celebrity Edition

Whether we believe it or not, celebrities are people just like us. When it comes to gambling, they have one thing we don’t. They have the luxury to lose money without making a dent in their savings. Many of them tempt fate with gambling regularly. Like Charlie Sheen. By the time his wife affirmed the assumptions, many people, already suspected that he was a gambling addict. She divorced him because he spent over $ 200,000 on gambling every week. Even though he could afford it, it’s hard to live with a spouse who has an addictive personality.

However, he is not the only actor with a gambling addiction. There are some crazy stories from the gambling world about Ben Affleck too. After spending $ 400,000 in one sitting and losing every cent of it, and after being banned from the Hard Rock Casino, he went to get help. He did not succeed, however. Rumor has it, he went back to the way he was and keeps winning more, even drunk, as others sober. Once he bet $ 60,000 at a blackjack table under the influence of alcohol but still made $ 800,000 with it.

George Clooney is no exception, but you are wrong if you believe that he started gambling due to his role in Ocean’s 11. As a kid, he was a regular visitor in Las Vegas to watch his aunt’s shows, but as an adult, he was known to sit down at casino tables once or twice or many times. There is a story that, with Matt Damon, they tried blackjack but lost and left without chasing winning. He did not get into gambling troubles or hit the news with casino scandals, but his example shows that it’s possible to know your limits and to know when to say no.
