Let’s take a look at a few of the biggest celebrity poker players in the world, and check out which site allows US poker fans to play online.

It’s no secret that many famous celebrities love to gamble. Whether it’s betting on sports, playing slot machines, or testing their luck at the poker tables, wagering money is an activity that the rich and famous love to partake in.

Now this certainly applies to some more than others. There are infamous stories of celebrities losing their cool (or their money) inside casinos, and in this article we’ll focus on them. Here are a few of the biggest celebrity poker players in the world today.

Matt Damon

Matt Damon is one of Hollywood’s most recognizable stars. He’s played in some of the biggest movies in recent years and generally has the reputation as a calm, collected individual who weighs all his options carefully. Perhaps it’s these attributes that makes him one of the many celebrities who play poker.

US online poker sites

It’s possible that Damon’s love for the game began back in 1998 when he was starring in the film ‘Rounders’ about underground poker players. Legend has is that Damon spent more than $25,000 playing poker in order to prepare for the role. He also took part in the 2009 World Series of Poker, and performed above expectations.

There’s no doubt that Damon likes poker, but to avoid the spotlight inside casinos he might wants to consider playing in one of the many online poker sites in the US such as Juicy Stakes. These offer all the fun of playing poker for money, from the comfort of home.

Tiger Woods

Unless you’re living under a rock you’re probably aware that Tiger Woods is a man who can’t resist a good vice. Unlike some of the biggest celebrity poker players we’ll list however, it seems like Woods enjoys playing the game for a good cause.

Even billionaire Mark Cuban has lost to Woods playing poker. He told the media that Tiger left him “dead broke” at the annual Tiger Jam event that Woods puts on to raise money for the Tiger Woods Foundation. He might not be performing well on the golf course, but he can always find a second career in US poker rooms like Juicy Stakes.

There aren’t many reports of Woods playing simply for fun inside of casinos, although it’s highly likely to happen. Woods is competing a drug rehabilitation program, and will hopefully return to the golf course sometime in the near future.

Tobey Maguire

It’s very possible that Tobey Maguire is the biggest celebrity poker player in the world. He began playing in major tournaments in 2004, and has been featured on ESPN’s coverage of the WSOP in 2005, 2006, and 2007. He was also mentored by Daniel Negreanu early in his career which likely helped him succeed.

As uncle Ben told Spider Man, “with great power comes great responsibility,” and unfortunately it seems Maguire has let his celebrity status get to his head at the poker tables. Numerous people have stated that Maguire is a good player but a sore loser. Molly Bloom, who held underground tournaments for some of the biggest celebrity poker players, told the media that Maguire once told her to “bark like a dog” in order to receive a $1,000 chip.

Once again, this celebrity would probably benefit from playing poker online for cash at a site like Juicy Stakes. Here he would likely still be same kind of brash, unapologetic player he’s said to be, but at least he could do it anonymously!

These are just a few of the biggest celebrity poker players. Stay tuned for upcoming articles at GamingZion highlighting some other celebrities who enjoy making different wagers!
