Lotto Max numbers posted for Friday, January 9, 2015 revealed no takers
There were no winners for the $50-million jackpot last Friday as no winning ticket was drawn in the Lotto Max draw. However there were two MaxMillions prizes of $1-million each up for grabs. A winning ticket for one of those prizes was bought somewhere in British Columbia on a mobile betting platform.
The jackpot for this Friday’s Lotto Max will remain at $50-million, but there will be 11 MaxMillions prizes available. Once the Main Jackpot reaches $50 million, each $1 million in excess, is drawn as a separate $1 million MaxMillions prize. Draws are held every Friday, with LOTTO MAX tickets sold until 9 p.m. (Eastern Time) on draw nights. LOTTO MAX is available for sale across Canada.
More possibility to buy lottery tickets with PlayOLG launch
Just recently, Ontario launched its first online gaming site operated by The Ontario Lottery and Gaming (OLG), whereby Lotta Max lottery tickets can now be bought. This means gambling has never been more accessible to Ontarians, at least legally. Although the company will hand over tax revenues to help the government eliminate its $12.5 billion deficit some opposition parties were opposed to the new online casino, PlayOLG.
While the Canadian government does not give out licenses for companies to operate internet casinos, under Canadian gambling laws, several provinces have launched their own sites. The PlayOLG site which was launched on Thursday, January 8, 2015 joined the ranks of other online gambling sites that has sprung up in other parts of Canada including British Columbia, Manitoba, Quebec and all of the Atlantic Provinces who already have online gambling sites.
The Last Lotto Max of January 9, 2015 did however see a total of 1,253,342 winners. Ticket sales amounted to $40,138,180.00 and there was a total winning of $10,737,580.30. the next draw date is January 16. So even if there were no winners this time for the $50 million jackpot; you may be the lucky this coming Friday.
