What You Need To Know About Surfing To Get The Hype

There is nothing better on a sunny day than looking out at the endless ocean before us. Who doesn’t fantasize about an image like that every once in a while? However, there are other options besides sunbathing and dipping into the water. How would it be like to enjoy the sun, the view, and the water while flying on a surfboard? Surfing has many advantages as a sport and even as a hobby. For instance, it’s great for your whole body since every set of muscles are working. Every surfers’ motto is paddling, paddling, paddling. To catch the wave you want fast, your upper body and arms have to be strong. If a decent wave appears in your field of vision, guess what you will have to do? Yes, paddling.  When you feel the rippling under your board, you have to get up, find your balance, and you are good to go. Your legs’ job is to support you on the board, and that requires lower body strength. You see, your whole body is active. Furthermore, surfers swear the time spent on the ocean helps relieve stress. The fresh air, the rumbling water, the adrenalin, and the beautiful sights all lift the spirits. Other than having fun, surfing has a unique way of bringing your emotions to the surface. Your senses will heighten along with the desire to ride the waves better and better. If you have the chance, give it a go, and maybe you’ll find your new passion. You never know until you try. If you are a newbie, study surfing techniques first on solid ground

Bethany Hamilton: I Don’t Need Easy, I Just Need Possible

Bethany Hamilton has one of the biggest and most inspiring comeback stories ever. And she is on the top of our list of surfers who faced death but survived for a reason. She is a professional surfer who survived a shark attack in 2003. A tiger shark bit off her left arm, and yet, Bethany remained positive and eventually returned to the ocean. She began her competitive surfing career at the age of 8 and soon became a professional. The accident happened when she was only 13. She was out with friends, enjoying a fun afternoon when, suddenly, the water turned red around her, and it seemed like her whole life changed forever.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ljcS_tyta0 However, only one month after the attack, Bethany stood on a surfboard again, and in a couple of years, she won the national surfing title with only one arm. At the age of 31, she is a wife, mother, motivational speaker, author, and still a professional surfer. Bethany admitted that her strong faith helped her through the tough times, and the conviction that her passion is a gift made her return to the sport. She competes in the WSL (World Surf League) tournament, so check out the 2022 odds at the 22Bet Sportsbook. If you want to get to know her better, there are three movies about her life: Unstoppable, Soul Surfer, and Heart of a Soul Surfer.

Greg Long - One of The Lucky Surfers Who Faced Death But Survived

Greg Long is a professional big-wave surfer who was also on the brink of death. In 2012, at a distant seamount, he was captured underwater by four quickly following waves, suffered blunt trauma injuries, and nearly drowned. Luckily, his team found him in time and saved his life. It was a close call. There is a video of him, coughing up blood and water, barely alive. According to him, physically, he recovered fast, but mentally, the near-death experience left deep marks. It’s hard to believe, but a few days after the accident, he went to compete in the Big Wave World Tour Championship and won. The 35 years old big gun surfer achieved many successes amongst two WSL big wave world titles. Kalani Chapman One Of The Pro Surfers Who Faced Death But Survived

Kalani Chapman was brought back to life after a horrifying fall. In 2017, he competed at the Dahui Backdoor Shootout when a wave knocked him down, and he hit his head on a reef. When Chapman didn’t surface, other surfers and lifeguards did a quick job of pulling him out of the water by the leash attached to his leg, ultimately saving his life. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mVPCnZ9fgwA After two months in a hospital, he was back in the game. The ocean he loves so much tried its best to kill him, and yet he never lost his respect for the force of nature. He learned from the incident, and now he wears a helmet every time. He is still an active pro surfer, and according to online sportsbook sites in the US, he is one of the best.

Aaron Gold Knocked On Death’s Door

Another professional surfer joined the elite club of surfers who faced death but survived. An almost tragedy happened again, at the shores of Fiji, when a miracle occurred. Right after Aaron Gold was pulled out of the ocean dead, a small group started reviving him. Greg Long was among the rescuers, who performed CPR for almost ten minutes when Gold was finally brought back to life. Just a few months before his near-death experience, he was the one who rode the biggest wave at Jaws, Pe’ahi. You can never be careful enough. If you go surfing, be sure to wear the appropriate protective equipment.
