The BiG Africa Summit is coming back to Botswana for a 13th run, with organizers confirming dates of 1 to 4 February 2027 at the Grand Palm Hotel Casino and Convention Resort in Gaborone. The event has been a fixture on the African betting and iGaming calendar since it launched in 2014, pulling together regulators, operators and senior figures from across the continent’s gambling industry.

This year’s edition carries backing from the Botswana Gambling Authority, which has positioned the summit as a chance for regulators and operators to talk directly rather than through the usual channels. Authority CEO Moruntshi Kemorwale said the event gives regulators, policymakers and industry leaders a platform to work together and trade knowledge as Africa’s gambling sector keeps changing, adding that Botswana is looking forward to hosting conversations on responsible and tech-enabled gambling across the continent.

How the four days break down

Day Focus
Day 1 Arrivals and initial networking in Gaborone
Days 2-3 Main summit sessions on regulatory developments and market insight across Africa
Day 4 Closing day for relationship-building before delegates head home

Organizers say a full agenda and speaker list will be released closer to the event.

Who shows up

The guest list typically includes regulators, operators, technology and service providers, legal and compliance specialists, and investors, alongside other decision-makers working across African and international gaming markets. For attendees, the pitch is straightforward: it’s a rare room where the people writing the rules, entering new markets and building the tech are all in one place at the same time.

Early bird pricing is available now for anyone looking to attend the 13th edition. Registration is open at bigafricasummit.com.
