The Premier League may have just kicked off in the United Kingdom, but it has been filling the British gambling news for quite a while before the start of the season. One of the main topics are sponsorship deals between gaming and betting companies and the League’s teams.
Although many teams have gambling enterprises as their official betting partners, the latest sponsorship may break completely new ground in regards to online sportsbooks in United Kingdom. 12BET and Crystal Palace FC, who have just joined the Premier League following a long absence, signed an agreement which is said to be the first ever gambling-related stadium deal in the League.
12BET, which operates in full compliance with the British gambling laws, will become the official betting partner of the Eagles as well as the team’s stadium sponsor. Steve Parish, Crystal Palace Chairman, calls the deal “ground-breaking for the club”, and looks forwards to long-term and successful partnership with 12BET.
The Chairman had the following comments: “As the club returns to the Premier League, there is great excitement at what can be achieved on and off the pitch and on behalf of our owners I have great pleasure in welcoming our first ever stadium sponsor to our corporate family.”
Rory Anderson, 12BET Chief Executive Officer, also commented the deal: “We are delighted to be the first company in our sector to pull off a stadium sponsorship deal in the Premier League. 12BET are an in-play football betting specialist, so to have a Premier League stadium associated with our brand is a real coup for us. Crystal Palace is a great club with a fantastic history and I am very much looking forward to sampling the atmosphere at Selhurst Park.”
