This will be the seventh edition of the FIBA Champions League. The top-level basketball club tournament organized by the International Basketball Federation, FIBA Europe. Spanish clubs have been dominating this tournament as well after we can mostly find them in the previous winners. Both San Pablo Burgos and Lenovo Tenerife have won the title twice so far. The latter club is also the defending champion after they defeated another Spanish team, Baxi Manresa in last year’s final. Both of them can fight for the trophy again along with other Turkish, Italian, and Greek clubs. At the moment, 32 clubs are taking part in the regular season, divided into eight teams of four. The group winners will advance to the last 16 automatically. While the second and third-place teams will continue in the playoffs next April.

Spanish Clubs Lead the 2022/23 FIBA Champions League Odds

Lenovo Tenerife won the first and the previous season of the FIBA Champions League. Plus they also featured in the final in the 2018/19 season. Txus Vidorreta’s team finished sixth in the Spanish league and also reached the semi-final in the domestic cup last year. But their biggest success was winning this tournament. They also started the new season well, after winning against the Lithuanian club Rytas. Tenerife are on a 12-game winning streak in the competition. And they are favored to win the title again by online sportsbooks in Spain. They offer the odds of 5.50 for the club’s third victory. Players like Giorgi Shermadini and Tim Abramaitis can help them to achieve that after both players belong to the top scorers of the league.  Another Spanish club, Unicaja Malaga can be Tenerife’s biggest rival according to the 2022/23 FIBA Champions League odds. Even though the team only got to the regular season after winning the qualifying round before. They finished in 12th place in the Spanish Championship and reached the quarter-finals in the previous Champions League season. Now Ibon Navarro’s team can go much further. And even win the club’s second international title after their victory at the 2016/17 EuroCup. Now led by the European champions Dario Brizuela and Alberto Diaz, Malaga have the odds of 6.00 on 22Bet to win this tournament.

Turkish, German, and French Teams are Also Among the Favorites

Galatasaray Nef finished third in the super-strong Turkish league last season and will be a top contender in the Champions League too. Especially after the arrival of several new players like Dylan Ennis, Raymar Morgan, and Braian Angola. They are led by Greek coach Andreas Pistiolis who worked as an assistant coach at Panathinaikos and CSKA Moscow before. Galatasaray got to the last 16 in the previous season. Now they can follow other Turkish clubs’ examples and reach the final. Banvit and Pinar Karsiyaka lost there, Galata’s odds to become the champions are 9.00.  MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg finished third in the 2021/22 Champions League season after they defeated Hapoel Holon in the bronze match. Online gambling sites in Spain also mention the German club among the favorites and offer odds of 13.00 for their victory. Even though their head coach, John Patrick left the club in the summer. But the team has been playing well under the new coach, Josh King too. And got a huge, 99-58 win over Danish Bakken Bears in the first round.  SIG Strasbourg has a similar chance of winning the club’s first title (15.00). They finished fourth here in the 2020/21 season and got to the quarter-finals last year. The French club has some great talents and the Finnish head coach Lassi Tuovi. He also led the Finnish team to the quarter-finals in this year’s European Championship. Going back to Spanish teams, Baxi Manresa, UCAM Murcia, and Bilbao can also fight for the trophy. Last year’s runners-up, Manresa have the smallest odds to win the competition with an odd of 10.00. In spite of several players leaving the club and losing two games in the domestic league already.
