This is the 24th edition of one of the four ATP 250 tournaments in France, the Moselle Open. It is played on indoor hard courts, signing the beginning of the indoor season. We can find such top players as Novak Djokovic, Gael Monfils, or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in its previous winners. Tsonga has been the most successful player in the tournament’s history with four wins.

While Polish world No10, Hubert Hurkacz is the defending champion after he won against Pablo Carreno Busta in last year’s final. Now he can try to defend his title but it won’t be an easy task. As the former world No1, Daniil Medvedev will also compete in the event. Just like the 2019 US Open champion, Dominic Thiem who is slowly getting back to his form following his long absence.

2022 ATP Metz Winner Odds Mention the Top Seeds as Favorites

Daniil Medvedev lost his world No1 spot due to his early exit at the 2022 US Open. The 26-year-old Russian was beaten by Nick Kyrgios in the fourth round who also defeated him in the Canadian Open. In the Cincinnati Masters Medvedev got to the semi-final where Stefanos Tsitsipas stopped him. He hasn’t had the best run in the last few weeks but it can all change now in Metz. At least according to online sportsbooks in France which offer the smallest odds, 1.72 for his victory. Medvedev makes his tournament debut in the French city and will aim for his second trophy in the season.

The defending champion, Hubert Hurkacz can be one of his biggest rivals who can also get his second title in 2022. The Polish world No10 also reached his second Masters 1000 final in the Canadian Open last month. But lost there against Pablo Carreno Busta who was his opponent in last year’s Moselle Open final. Now Hurkacz’s odds to defend his title are 6.00 in the 2022 ATP Metz winner odds. The third seed of the tournament, Lorenzo Musetti won his first ATP Tour title this season at the Hamburg European Open. In the final, the young Italian managed to beat the current world No1, Carlos Alcaraz. His odds to go all the way in this event are 29.00.

French Favorites and Other Top Names

Since the first edition of this tournament, French players have been playing well. They won the trophy on 11 occasions. Now the eighth seed, Adrian Mannarino has the biggest chance for a good performance. And the odds of 34.00 for the victory after he won his second ATP title this year at the 2022 Winston-Salem Open.

The 34-year-old player is only one of the seven participating French players though. Richard Gasquet will also compete in the event but he is facing a tough rival in Dominic Thiem in the first round. The Austrian slowly gets back to form following a long recovery from his wrist injury. He reached the semi-final in the Swiss Open in July but hasn’t got a win since his 2020 US Open victory.

Thiem reached the final here in 2016. Now online gambling sites in France offer an odds of 17.00 for his win. Similar odds are offered for the young US player, Sebastian Korda. The world No49 reached the quarter-final in Washington but was out in the second round in the US Open. He will start against another French player, Hugo Gaston where he is favored to go through.

Another young player, 19-year-old Holger Rune can also perform well in Metz. The Danish youngster won his first ATP Tour title in the Bavarian International Tennis Championship in April. Rune is the fourth seed in the tournament after reaching the quarter-final here last year. And he has an odds of 23.00 on bet365 to win it now.
