The 2022 Davis Cup Finals is taking place from 13-18 September and from 22-27 November. In September the remaining 16 teams take part in the group stage, divided into four groups. With each group being hosted by a different European city. The first two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stage that will be held in November in Malaga. So at the moment, the national men’s tennis teams play against their group members. All ties are played in a best-of-three format on one day. In the participating teams, we can find former multiple winners Australia, France, Great Britain, and Spain. While the US team has been the most successful nation with 32 victories. They haven’t managed to win since 2007 but they have a good chance of winning now.

2022 Davis Cup Winner Odds Favor Spain and Italy

The new world No1 and US Open champion Carlos Alcaraz is part of the Spanish Davis Cup team. Though he missed the first tie against Serbia for obvious reasons. The team still managed to win easily against the Serbs, thanks to the victories of other top players, Roberto Bautista Agut and Albert Ramos Vinolas. So even without Rafael Nadal, Spain is super strong and the biggest favorite to win their 7th Davis Cup title. The knockout stage will be also held in the country, increasing their chances of winning. Online sportsbooks in Spain offer the odds of 4.50 for their victory.

One of their main rivals can be the Italian team who has an odds of 5.00 in the 2022 Davis Cup winner odds. Italy has only won the trophy once before, in 1976, but can fight for another win this year. The team has such top players as Jannik Sinner, Matteo Berrettini, and Lorenzo Musetti. All of them are top 30 players. They also started the group stage with a 3-0 win against last year’s runner-up, Croatia. Signing the strength of this Italian team which plays in front of the home crowd in Bologna this week. Last year Italy reached the quarter-finals, now they can go all the way. The team will face Sweden and Argentine in the next few days, being the favorites against both nations.

Can the US finally win again?

The US men’s tennis team has already won the Davis Cup 34 times so far. Thanks to such top players as John McEnroe, Andre Agassi, and Andy Roddick. They might not have such superstars in the team now, but Taylor Fritz and Tommy Paul are good players. Frances Tiafoe’s withdrawal from the team was a huge blow though, weakening their chances of winning. Bob Bryan’s team is still ranked though among the favorites with an odds of 6.50. Well, they defeated Great Britain 2-1 in the opening group tie and should win easily against Kazakhstan and the Netherlands.  Online gambling sites in Spain offer the same odds for the victory of Serbia. Even though Novak Djokovic won’t play in the team for personal reasons. Their team also won the title once so far, in 2010. While they also got to the semi-finals on three occasions including last season. In the absence of Djokovic, we can still find some great players on the team. Like Miomir Kecmanovic, Filip Krajonovic, and Laslo Dere, making Serbia one of the most balanced teams. 10-time winner Great Britain feature even bigger names in its squad with Cameron Norrie, Dan Evans, and Andy Murray. They lost their first game against the US but should qualify for the last eight. And perform well there as well with an odds of 7.50 to win the tournament.
