The Copa America Centenario begins on Friday, and it’s a great chance to start a summer of sporting betting. Here are our best Copa America Centenario Odds !

The Copa America Centario begins Friday 3nd June, at 19:30 Pacific Time. The first match sees hosts USA play soccer powerhouse Colombia, with the final taking place on Sunday 26th June at 18:00 Pacific Time. Normally the Copa America features predominately South American teams, but on the 100th anniversary of it first being held, organisers decided to do something different.

This tournament (only a year after it was last held) features 16 rather 12 teams, and features 6 teams from CONCACF. The first time it has been held outside of South America means nobody knows what to expect: this makes it the perfect time to bet on sports.

Outsiders:

  • USA @ 10.00
  • Ecuador @ 34.00
  • Costa Rica @ 66.00
  • Paraguay@ 81.00
Paraguay have the top scorer in South American World Cup qualifying. Bundesliga striker Dario Lezcano has four goals so far; if he can score these in the Copa, they could surprise. Costa Rica reached the quarter finals of the World Cup two years ago, so they have the experience necessary to do well. They don’t necessarily have the quality to compete, but their defensive nous could serve them well: they’ll be hoping to do a “Greece 2004”. Ecuador, meanwhile, are big favourites to qualify for the next stage. Joined by Haiti and Peru in Group B (along with Brazil), they’d be disappointed not to get to the knockout rounds: once they are there, anything can happen.

Contenders

  • Uruguay @ 10.00
  • Mexico @ 11.00
  • Colombia @ 11.00
Colombia were unlucky to be knocked out at quarter final stage of World Cup 2014, but since then they haven’t impressed. Their star of that tournament, James Rodriguez, is on the bench for Real Madrid. Another star, Carlos Sanchez, was just relegated with Aston Vila. They do have Carlos Bacca though: if he continues his scoring form, they can do well. Mexico also feature a striker in great scoring form: Javier Hernandez. They haven’t been beaten in eleven games, and will be boosted by the absence of Luis Suarez from their group stage encounter with Uruguay. Despite Suarez (at least in the early stages) Uruguay will still hope to do very well. They have Edinson Cavani, who might shine with the limelight upon him. They last won the tournament in 2011, and betting on them doing it again could be worth your while.

Favourites

  • Argentina @ 2.88
  • Brazil @ 5.50
  • Chile @ 8.50
Chile won Copa America only last year, thanks to stars like Alexis Sanchez, Arturo Vidal, and Gary Medel. None of these players has played particularly well since the victory, so they aren’t as favoured this time. However, they’ll be desperate to hold on to it for more than 12 months! Brazil will be keen for some success after the inglorious failure of their home would Cup two years ago. After losing to Germany 7-1 in 2014, they got knocked out by Colombia last time around. However, they might struggle without Neymar. Which leaves one clear favourite...
