In the endless list of different film and television awards we have next the Producers Guild of America Awards honoring the best producers of 2020. In the main categories we can find the usual nominees. But you can also bet on the winners of special PGA Awards categories too. Like the Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures where Pixar’s latest film, Soul is the favorite.
The 32nd Producers Guild of America Awards or as more known the PGA Awards will honor the best producers of film and television productions in 14 different categories. Which include the well-known ones, like Best TV series or Best Film, which you can read more about here. But in the ceremony we can also get to know the winners of special categories when they award the producers of animation and documentary films. Or in the Television section there are categories for the producers of Best Game & Competition and Live Entertainment & Talk Television. But on the different sportsbooks we can mostly bet on more traditional categories like the Best Drama or Comedy Series ones. We’ve taken a look now on more specific categories, let’s see the favorites there.
Top favorites in special PGA Awards categories
First of all let’s see the biggest favorites in the Best Animation Film category. Here Soul is favored to win by online sportsbooks in the US. The latest production of Pixar and Disney is about a middle school music teacher, Joe Gardner whose soul and body got separated. Joe, whose voice is Jamie Foxx, tries to reunite them. But everything gets mixed up and his soul ends in a cat. Sounds rather quirky for an animation, but viewers and critics liked it. It has already won the Best Animated Feature Film Golden Globe and is in the nominees of the Academy Awards.
Another favorite in this category is the international co-production of Wolfwalkers, the third part of Tomm Moore’s Irish Folklore Trilogy. The film debuted at the 2020 Toronto International Film Festival and was released on Apple+ last December. It is an enchanting story of Robyn Goodfellow, a young hunter who arrives in Ireland with her father with the aim to hunt down the last wolf pack. It has also received nominations in all major awards from BAFTA to the Oscar. And now it has the odds of 6.50 to win at the PGA Awards.
Favorites in the Best Documentary category
In the special PGA Awards categories we can find another one related to films. The Best Documentary category with several amazing nominees. Like Time which follows a woman’s fight for the release of her husband. He is serving his 60-year sentence in prison for a bank robbery. The film produced by Amazon is the biggest favorite of online gambling sites in the US with the odds of 1.50. Especially after already winning at the Los Angeles and New York Film Critics Awards. The film which reflects on social injustice is also the favorite to win at the Academy Awards.
One of its biggest rivals can be Netflix documentary, Dick Johnson Is Dead which has the odds of 2.75 on 22Bet. In this film director Kirsten Johnson follows her Dad with dementia and visions different ways of his death. It is funny and sad at the same time and portrays a topic which most people can relate to. It has already won the Critics’ Choice Documentary Awards and a special award at Sundance festival. We can also find the legend of nature documentary, Sir David Attenborough in the nominees with his latest work, A Life on Our Planet. Here Attenborough draws attention to the dangerous state of the Earth and our impact on it. Even though it is a very important film it is not likely to win the PGA Awards. As its odds of 15.00 also show.
