Betfair has become the official Wi-Fi and Digital Gaming Partner of the Chester and Bangor-on-Dee racecourse.

The online sportsbook in the UK has recently signed an official deal – titled “Always on Campaign” – with the Chester Race Company (CRC), agreeing to be its partner for both the 2014 and 2015 racing seasons.

During the 2013 season, the CRC went with O2 as a Wi-Fi partner. Company officials say last year’s trial offered “significant insight” into the public’s behavior. Apparently, the two partners were able to learn a few things about how people interact through Wi-Fi and digital media, during official races.

The partnership also involves traditional sponsorship for four horse races, including the Boodles May Festival offering the GBP 60,000 Betfair Price Rush Huxley Stakes and the GBP 75,000 Betfair Cash Out Dee Stakes.

Making horse races more exciting

Apart from that, CRC and Betfair have developed an integrated partnership for digital services. The online betting provider will be able to use CRC’s Wi-Fi in order to “power the thrill of racing”.

In recent gambling news, CRC chief executive Richard Thomas told reporters: “The rich customer data harvested through Wi-Fi and Chester Race Company’s bespoke CRM system allows the Company to fully understand footfall, consumer behavior and allows detailed data interrogation, allowing the Company to strategically inform Betfair on how to communicate and reward existing customers as well as how to activate new ones.”
