Swansea appoint their own player Garry Monk to lead them in the Premier League, despite not having any managerial experience.

Swansea finished 12th in the Premier League last season, which marks a downgrade of three places from the year before when they ended 9th on the charts. Throughout the course of last season, Danish manager Michael Laudrup was sacked after a series or disappointing results.

Instead, the Swans decided to give a chance to their own player Garry Monk to take charge of the team midway through the season. Monk has previously played for the team as a defender for a decade, before taking on managerial duties.

The Swans complete promising transfers

To help them form a convincing team, the Swans have bought several bigger names known in football. Polish goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski was signed on a free transfer from Arsenal, while midfielders Gylfi Sigurdsson and Jefferson Montero were also added to the ranks.

The most prominent transfer name on the list is Bafetimbi Gomis, a proven striker who was captured on the free once his contract with Lyon expired. Mobile betting provider Bet365 believes Gomis can become top goalscorer for his team with odds of 2.37 (11/8), while Wifried Bony remains the favorite with 1.83 (5/6) odds.

Considering that Swansea have appointed a man with no managing experience, Bet365 doesn’t seem to think they can finish in top half of the table. Rather, they are more likely to finish bottom half of the table as their chances are 1.36 (4/11).
