It's a legit question whether these events really happen or are fake to increase their popularity! After reading this article about the eerie casinos in the USA, you will not question it though. When you enter a casino, ghosts are probably the last thing on your mind. You’d think that a haunted casino, precisely because it’s haunted, wouldn’t be popular, but you couldn’t be more wrong. For some reason, we have been wired, in such a way, that these places do not scare us but rather pike our interest and excite us enough to check them out. So it’s no wonder that large crowds, in addition to winning, want to feel the chills, and travel to visit the following casinos!

Resort Casino Hotel

The place got its current form in 1978, but in 1860, it operated as a hotel as well as a residential building and military hospital. The hotel had two towers, the Ocean and the Rendezvous Tower, and reportedly, the former is haunted. When they renovated the building in 1903, the workers heard a bone-rattling roar from the top of the tower, even though nobody could have been there. According to online casino sites in the US, many say there is no need to be scared because it’s Charlie Chaplin’s ghost, playing jokes on the bystanders.

Westgate Las Vegas Resort & Casino

The guests and employees of Westgate have allegedly met Elvis Presley after his death on many occasions. The King stayed there between 1969 and 1976 and had an incredible number of concerts, 837, to be exact. He has been seen several times in the corridors on the upper floor, where there is an Elvis Suite in memory of the singer. He also appeared on stage and backstage, where countless celebrities have prepared for their concerts.

It’s no wonder that Elvis wanders here because it has everything you could want, a pool, several restaurants, a spa, and the location since it is next to the Las Vegas Convention Center and close to the Strip. So, if you want to catch a glimpse of the King one more time, book a room at Westgate Resort and Casino! We can never get enough of ghost stories, check out our article about gambling from the other side!

Eerie casinos in the USA - Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel

Benjamin Siegel was a powerful mobster in the 1940s. When the gangster arrived in the city, he opened a casino at the behest of Lucky Luciano, which is still operating today. This is the Flamingo Hotel & Casino, which is among the eerie casinos in the USA. Bugsy was Luciano’s hitman and confidant. He wanted to get away from the New York mafia, fearing that he was gonna end up dead sooner or later, so he moved to Vegas.

However, not many did trust him, for obvious reasons, even his partners and colleagues wanted to liquidate him during the construction period, but the building opened eventually. Allegedly he was too greedy, not giving much to the Lucianos. Bugsy Siegel was murdered a year after the casino opened, and we still don’t know who or why did it to this day. Of course, there are conspiracy theories since we are talking about the underworld.  However, it seems it didn’t work since he has been seen smoking a cigarette in front of his own bust. It stands outside the wedding chapel, next to his old suit. Guests have also seen his ghost several times, in several places, like the presidential suit. It seems like he can’t let go of the place that belonged to him for only a short while.

The Luxor Hotel and Casino

The Great Pyramid of Vegas, or the Luxor Hotel and Casino, is located in the middle of Las Vegas, near the Strip. The place already has a dark atmosphere as we look at it from the outside, but it is even more frightening that not one but several ghosts have appeared there over the years. Who are they? Allegedly, seven workers died at the construction site when one of the eerie casinos in the USA was built in the 90s. In order to preserve its good reputation, the casino covered up these unfortunate events.

Several guests have seen souls wandering in the corridors, but there have been complaints about this from the entire hotel. Years back, there was a small boat tour inside the casino, and the guest on the boat saw these workers, or maybe someone else, in the tunnels. However, that was only the tip of the iceberg, literally! The Titanic exhibition is also said to be haunted!

Eerie casinos in the USA - The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino

This is one of the eeriest casinos in the USA, with plenty of ghost sightings. The New Jersey Hard Rock Hotel and Casino closed in 2006, but that hasn’t stopped its ghosts from lingering there. When the casino reopened in 2018, there were more and more complaints about an orange-hued ghost regularly harassing guests. They claim that this uninvited guest appears in the rooms mostly, being mean and arrogant.  However, there is another, less aggressive soul. Though people suspect who that figure was and why he still haunts that casino. Allegedly, before the place closed in 2006, a former guest committed suicide by jumping from the 10th floor of the hotel. So, if you want to experience a different kind of excitement besides gambling, pay a visit to the Hard Rock Hotel or check out the ghost theme slots at Ignition Casino!

Bally’s Resort and Casino

Bally’s Resort and Casino was built on the site where the MGM Grand Hotel burned down in a terrible fire in the 1980s. Well, it’s a good start, or not.

In that fire, 85 people died horrible deaths. So it’s not surprising that several guests reported that these souls still roam the casinos. Sometimes they even appear in groups. That must be a scary sight! Check out Ignition Casino for more details! However, it’s not the eeriest casino in the USA!

Eerie casinos in the USA - Scary clowns

We have left the most frightening for last. It is scary to see spirits, but if they don’t bother anyone, there shouldn’t be a problem. However, that is not the case at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino. Even the whole hotel is enough to give someone the chills. For example, the clowns look like they stepped out of a Stephen King book. Jay Sarno founded the place, but it needed countless renovations, and he soon ran out of money. When the casino did not bring enough profit, he turned to the mafia for not so little help, asking for a loan of 23 million dollars! Things got worse and worse, and eventually, he had to sell the building. Since the owner change, lots of guests have reported strange events. Some heard screams, some heard someone whisper for their lives. Although, the worst was when someone even found a help inscription on the bathroom mirror. Even hearing about these causes goosebumps, but imagine experiencing it! However, if you like to be afraid, we recommend rooms 123, 203, and 230 since most of the sightings came from those, according to online casino sites in the US. It seems like these numbers want to tell a story too!
