Steve Nash's Coaching Future

The Brooklyn Nets fired head coach Steve Nash on November 1. The main reason was due to the Nets’ 2-5 start to the season. Nash was hired as the head coach back in September 2020. This season, however, this departure was bound to happen sooner or later. Brooklyn finally started the season with all three of its best players. The problem is KD, Kyrie, and Ben Simmons are only good on paper together. NBA head coaches usually don’t stay away long from the game. Thus, the reason for the special betting lines on Bovada. Nash, one of the best point guards of all time, finished his Nets coaching career with a 94-67 record. This is a decent record in the league but maybe more could’ve been done. Let’s see what went wrong in Brooklyn. The Nets had it a bit rough in the past two seasons. Durant and Harden were injured multiple times then the team traded the latter for Ben Simmons. Kyrie refused to comply with safety protocols so he couldn’t play for most of the 2021-22 season. Then on top of this, Simmons missed the entire season last year. All of this left Nash with Kevin Durant and some role players.

Where will Steve Nash End Up? - 2023 NBA Season Special Bets

Out of the 30 head coaches, 12 are retired NBA players. Continuing your basketball career on the sidelines is not new, but some have more success than others. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jmuFv691J8 We think Nash could end up on the coaching staff of any team by the end of the season. The odds for this are -180 on most online gambling in the US. Comparatively, seeing how often teams with high expectations fire their coaching staff, Nash could be back as a head coach next season. The odds for this are +200. Nash has a high chance of getting hired by a team that fails to qualify for the playoffs this season. According to some rumors, the Hall of Famer was linked to teams in the NCAAB, the Canadian Elite Basketball League, and USports as well.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Potential Trade Betting Line

NBA season specials sometimes include player trade bets as well. And while these types of betting lines are a bit rare, they’re always fun to follow. The trade deadline for the 2023 NBA season is on February 9. However, Bovada already included a betting line related to OKC’s Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. Rumors about the young talent emerged a few weeks ago. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtTfeFFyEwQ Shai is one of the top talents in the NBA right now but the Thunder continue to perform badly each season. The team only had one winning season since Shai arrived in 2019, which was in the bubble. One has to wonder, how long will the Thunder continue to tank? OKC picked up top prospect Chet Holmgren in the 2022 draft with their 2nd pick. Unfortunately, he then suffered a season-ending injury during pre-season. The Thunder could be the favorites for Victor Wembanyama at the 2023 NBA Draft as well. But how long do they have until Shai gets tired of losing?

Addressing the Rumors - 2023 NBA Season Special Bets

Shortly after the trade rumors emerged, Gilgeous-Alexander addressed the media. The 24-year-old said he’s excited about the future when asked about the current OKC squad. After his statement, Bovada has set the odds at -700 against a trade. The odds in favor of a trade are at +400 but we don’t believe this will happen, at least not this season. Shai has gone through a massive improvement since last season. He’s averaging 30.8 PPG, 4.6 RPG, and 5.9 APG in 24 games so far. The 24-year-old is doing all of this on 50-31-93 shooting splits. Whatever the outcome, this player will be a key part of the league in this decade.
