A Greek social casino games developer enjoys huge success with over 1 million app downloads and installations.

Amidst economic turmoil in Greece and controversy surrounding the sale of government’s stake in the country’s gambling monopoly OPAP, at least some Greek companies are making positive headlines.

AbZorba Games is an Athens-based gambling software developer specializing on social media gaming and operating in full compliance with Greek gambling laws. It ultra-popular Hub of Fun gambling product has reached a magic mark of 1 million app installations last week.

The Hub of Fun is targeting social mobile casino gambling in Greece and is available for iOS and Android devices. The comprehensive gambling product includes free-to-play live multiplayer casino games such as Roulette, Poker, and Blackjack. The company is also planning to launch a suite of social slots in January 2013.

Andrew Hughes, the company’s CEO, told Greek gambling news: “We are proud to achieve this significant milestone of 1 million game installations for our mobile casino titles, especially as we have grown entirely organically.”

He went on to add the following: “All our games are in a live multiplayer format with social features such as cocktail bars, fun avatar builders and chat which naturally entertains gamers who, in turn, invite their friends.”

AbZorba is also providing its AGON proprietary gambling platform as a branded, white label solution for a variety of partners looking for an accessible gaming platform to introduce branded mobile casino games on the spot.

The name of the brand, AGON, was created deriving from the ancient Greek, standing for “contest” or “competition”.
