  • Galway is the bookies’ favorite, but Limerick is likely to win again
  • The All-Ireland SHC 2019 winner odds show Cork as a potential candidate
  • Tipperary to turn things around, despite recent bad luck

The most important hurling tournament is back in July. Betting sites are already placing odds for the final result on August 18. And according to our All-Ireland SHC 2019 winner odds, Limerick will defend last year’s title.

On May 11, Irish counties will start playing in the Leinster and Munster Championships. The final results will decide which teams will advance to the All-Ireland finals. The GAA’s inter-county tournament is one of the most important sports events in the small republic, along with the Gaelic Football Championship. And despite the fact that online sportsbook sites in Ireland are favoring Galway, our betting preview points to a different direction.

Similarly to Gaelic Football, Hurling is mainly bigger among members of the Irish diaspora. But it seems to be more popular, as it reaches places like South Korea as well. And even though there is some confusion between the sport and Lacrosse, Hurling is one of the most special sports in the world. This is mainly due to its prehistoric statute. And UNESCO even recognized it as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Limerick is keeping its unbeatable form

After 45 years, Limerick defeated Galway in the 2018 All-Ireland’s final, winning the Liam MacCarthy. Now, they won their first National League since 1997 in what was their first appearance in 14 years.

John Kiely – who is the main responsible for these recent achievements – says that the focus now is on winning the Munster Championship. The manager had already been responsible for the 2013 title. And since he became in charge again in 2016, his work seems to be paying off well.

Limerick’s successful tactics have turned the team into the biggest threat in the All-Ireland this year. As the players create space and successfully deliver, their ability to move in the field is proving to be unbeatable.

In the last final against Waterford for the National League, they had a success rate of 85% short-to-medium passes. Limerick’s is definitely on a good way to follow last year’s achievement and its odds are 4.33 at BetVictor.

Cork will fight for an All-Ireland title in this decade

Cork is the second most successful team in history, having won 30 All-Ireland titles. And for the last two years in a row, they are proving why they are the best county playing in the Munster Championship.

Last year they reached the semifinals of the All-Ireland losing to the champions Limerick.

Cork hasn’t won an All-Ireland title in this decade yet. This year, however, they are ready to change that. Cork has one of the best squads in the league and last year, 3 players were part of the All-Star team. Séamus Harnedy, Patrick Horgan and the first-timer Darragh Fitzgibbon were selected. And the last one was also nominated for the Young Hurler of the Year award, after his incredible season. Fitzgibbon’s efforts almost helped Cork to win over Limerick last year in the All-Ireland’s semifinals. And now he will definitely be playing to revenge that.

Despite starting the Championship with some absences due to red cards, Cork (6.00) seems to have it all this year to finally win a title after so long.

The All-Ireland SHC 2019 winner odds are not so low for Tipperary

Along with Cork, Tipperary is the most successful team to play in Munster, with 47 titles. Additionally, it is the team with most National League’s titles (19).

Since September that Liam Sheedy is the new manager and will be looking to regain the former glory of the county. Between 2007 and 2010 he led Tipperary through very successful years. He won the National Hurling League and the Munster Senior Hurling Championship in 2008, and the latter in 2009 as well. In his last year as manager, Tipperary won the All-Ireland SHC.

However, Liam Sheedy’s life was recently made difficult with an injury crisis on his squad. This might explain why the county couldn’t beat Dublin and stay behind in the quarterfinals in this year’s league.

However, the team benefits from young stars like Jack Morris that might help to win the title. At BetVictor, Tipperary’s odds are 6.00 and they might still surprise.
