The race has started to take shape at the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year odds. Three top young talents Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, and RJ Barrett are leading the way. But, Morant seems to have the best chance with Memphis Grizzlies.

Almost two months have passed since the 2019-20 NBA season kicked off. Lots of hype has been built in the summer about the New Orleans Pelicans small forward Zion Williamson. He was a massive favorite at the 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year Odds by most online gambling sites in the US. However, his knee injury has brought in new top contenders. All eyes are now at Ja Morant, but also RJ Barrett might pose some serious threat.

Ja Morant enjoys an impressive run as for now

Through the early round of this season, Ja Morant has shown to be a future elite. His impressive run so far has put him in the driver’s seat. At Memphis Grizzlies he is averaging 19.1 points per game, 6.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds. Whereas, his 3 point percentage stands at 43.2. Of course, his numbers are less impressive than the ones with Murray State last season, but the challenge is much tougher now.

However, Morant’s high energy and good decision making on the court can lead him to glory. Thus, his 2020 NBA Rookie of the Year Odds value +150 at Unibet Sportsbook. Should he keep delivering the best performance, he certainly can receive the award in the spring.

Zion Williamson at 6’7 hight and 285 pounds is called by many as a “generational talent”. The attention on Williamson has been far higher than any other rookie. However, he was sidelined for the first couple of months of this season following knee surgery. He is about to return to the court at any moment with New Orleans Pelicans.

His IQ and athletic ability will probably let him shine again soon. Therefore, his odds are still high with a value of +300 to receive the award by the end of this season. Yet, should Morant continue his impressive run, Williamson will find it hard to come back on top after missing more than 20 games.

Barrett has the third-best chance to win the award

The ex-Duke forward RJ Barrett was overshadowed a bit when he was playing with Williamson last season. He had 22.7 points per game, 7.6 boards and 4.3 assists with the Blue Devils. This season he joined New York Knicks. Although he is a great player, it is a bit less likely for him to take home the award over the other two.

Barrett has the third-best chance by online sportsbooks in the US to get the award with +450 odds. It is a bit risky to place a bet on Barrett to take over Morant and Williamson. But, lots of games are ahead and nobody knows what will happen for sure. Should, Barret win 2020 Rookie of the Year, he will be the fourth Knick in history to take home the award.
