  • 2021 Ladies Italian Open is held this weekend at Margara in Piedmont
  • It is part of the Ladies European Tour which returns back to the country after 7 years
  • Australian talent Stephanie Kyriacou is the biggest favorite to win her 2nd open
This year’s Ladies European Tour continues this weekend in Italy with the second event of 2021. The event returned to the schedule after 2014 when English golfer Florentyna Parker won. She will compete this time again but not mentioned as a favorite in the Ladies Italian Open winner odds. Unlike Australian Stephanie Kyriacou who leads the odds at the moment.  The Ladies European Tour was founded in 1978 and has been operating tournaments ever since. Unfortunately several events of this season had to be cancelled or postponed while the first tournament was finally held in South Africa two weeks ago. Now the tour visits Italy, seven years after the last tournament here. This time Golf Club Margara will host the Open in Piedmont for the first time in the event’s history. In the previous occasions English golfer Laura Davies was the most successful with four victories. In 2021 the winner of last year’s Rookie of the Year award, Stephanie Kyriacou is the biggest favorite. But local favorites will surely aim for a good result on home soil.

Ladies Italian Open winner odds favor the young Australian talent

Stephanie Kyriacou is only 20 years old and this is only her second season in the professionals. She joined the Ladies European Tour in 2020 after winning the Australian Ladies Classic Bonville last January. The tournament was the first event of the 2020 Ladies European Tour, so winning it gave a two-year exemption to the amateur player. Kyriacou turned professional after and took part in her first major, the 2020 Women’s British Open. She was the runner-up in the Ladies Swiss Open and finished fifth in two more events.

Online sportsbooks in Italy offer the smallest odds, 6.50 for her victory this weekend. One of the biggest talents of the sport hasn’t competed for a long time and will return to the Tour with the Italian Open. One of her biggest rivals can be Finnish Sanna Nuutinen who is a much more experienced golfer in the tour. She has three professional wins since 2014,  but none of them are from the European Tour. But she got two third-place finishes last year which was the best season of her career. Now her odds to get the win is 10.00 in the Ladies Italian Open winner odds.

Other favorites including Italian players

Swedish Caroline Hedwall is also mentioned in the favorites with the odds of 13.00. The 2011 LET Player of the Year has 6 wins so far in the tour. But she won the last one three years ago, in the 2018 French Open. Hedwall also plays in the LPGA Tour and was ranked world No23 back in 2013. Now she is much further back in the ranking but she can still get a great result in Piedmont after her two third-place finishes last year.

From the local favorites online gambling sites in Italy offer the smallest odds, 21.00 for the victory of Giulia Molinaro. The 30-year-old player started her career in the Symetra Tour finishing second in the money list in 2013. Then she competed in the LPGA Tour with less success. Now Molinaro will compete on home soil, hoping for a better result. While 17-year-old Pia Bobnik will compete only in her 9th tournament. But after her fifth-place finish in the first event of the 2021 season in South Africa she can also cause a surprise here.
