Microgaming Signs with Iceland Online Gambling Group Betware

Microgaming, a major online gambling software provider based out of the Isle of Man, has just announced a deal with the Icelandic

Microgaming, a major online gambling software provider based out of the Isle of Man, has just announced a deal with the Icelandic gambling group Betware. The deal will see Betware, which has been offering internet gambling in Iceland for many years, supplement its current offerings with games from Microgaming’s extensive portfolio. 

Betware specialized in providing turnkey solutions for online gambling groups operating out if Iceland. Their current offerings include lottery, instant win, sports betting, bingo, racing, skill, casual and multi-player games. The new deal will let the group supplement their platform with approximately 85 new titles from Microgaming.  

“We are very proud and excited to be licensed to sell and market Microgaming’s casino games to growing markets,” said Betware chief executive Stefan Hrafnkelsson. 

“This agreement significantly expands our product offering and provides our customers with a great opportunity to leverage on the fantastic success of the Microgaming brand.” 

Microgaming is similarly as excited. Chief Executive Officer Roger Raatgever remarked, “We are delighted to be able to license our casino games to Betware, which is truly a market leader in its field.”  

“Betware’s long history in gaming combined with its extensive lottery network will be beneficial in pushing the Microgaming brand into exciting new territories and markets. We look forward to a long and successful working relationship.”  

Betware does not limit itself to servicing online gambling sites in Iceland. Clients include Danske Spil, the largest provider of internet gambling in Denmark, as well as major gambling groups in Spain and Canada. Their primary client in Iceland is Íslensk Getspá which provides online lottery solutions. Players in Iceland are offered few local solutions for internet gambling, and often turn to foreign-based gambling sites to fulfill their needs.
