This would be the match of the day in the Capital One Cup. Though it is a contest between a Premier League side and a Championship club, it is no surprise that Middlesbrough v Everton odds are so balanced.

Middlesbrough are in excellent form. They are currently second in the Championship, two points behind league leaders Brighton. They have won six out of their last seven games in all competition, including their previous League Cup tie against Manchester United, when they managed to advance on penalties after a goalless draw. They are undefeated at the Riverside Stadium since August, winning seven and drawing one in all competition.

Everton are also doing fine. They are on a five-game unbeaten run at the moment, winning three, drawing two, scoring 15 and conceding 7. On Saturday, they played a crazy 3–3 draw at Bournemouth despite leading 2–0 until the 80th minute. The Blues are ninth in the Premier League, only two points from their sixth-placed city rivals, Liverpool.

The visitors are slight favourites according to Middlesbrough v Everton odds at the best online sports betting sites UK players can access. The Toffees are available for 2.60 (33/20) at Bet365 Sportsbook, while a Boro win is priced at 2.88 (9/5) and draw goes for 3.40 (12/5).

Though Boro have a 16-1 goal difference in their last eight home games, it is hard to imagine that they can get away with no goals conceded against an Everton side that scored on nine occasions out of its last ten outings. So, it seems that tonight’s safe bet can be found on the both teams to score market amongst Middlesbrough v Everton odds.

Man City v Hull odds

The Sky Blues’ recent weeks have been a bit shaky with two victories, one draw and two defeats in their last five matches. Alright, to suffer consecutive losses against Liverpool and Juventus is not an extraordinary feature when you look into history books, but few of those who bet on sports in the UK would have expected that City won’t get any points in those two matches, even if they came right after the international brake.

There is more, since Sergio Aguero injured his foot, just after he came back following a hamstring injury. His problem is not that serious that it would be a major concern for City, but the Argentine is doubtful for the upcoming couple of games. Despite Augero being their top scorer, City haven’t been depending on him so far in the season with five of his seven goals coming in their 6–1 thrashing of Newcastle.

At first look, Hull seem to be ideal partners to build some additional confidence on the 3–1 weekend win against Southampton. However, the Tigers are currently fourth in the Championship, with only three points from Brighton. Moreover, they are unbeaten in their last six away matches, winning four and drawing two, sporting a 9–2 goal difference.

Manchester City are strong favourites according to odds provided by Bet365 Sportsbook: the Sky Blues are available for 1.36 (1/3) at the top UK sports betting site. Looking at the form of the two sides, a draw is tempting for 5.50 (19/4), while the visitors are 9.5 (17/2) underdogs. Upsets are quite common in English cup games, internet betting players around the world know this, however I don’t expect City to fail this time.

I’d suggest to back City with a handicap, especially as Bet365 Sportsbook has the best offer amongst online sportsbooks in the EU for the hosts to win with a -1 handy.

Best bet: Man City by -1 for 1.95 (20/21) at Bet365 Sportsbook
