Bet365 takes mobile sports betting on a higher level by allowing its members to watch sporting events on their mobiles and bet live

One of the most popular online sportsbooks in United Kingdom and worldwide, Bet365 announced it will offer its members a chance to watch and bet on live sporting events using their iOS and Android powered smartphones.

The unprecedented growth in popularity of mobile casinos in United Kingdom made Bet365 seriously focus on utilizing the latest advances in mobile sportsbook technology to offer its customers even more satisfaction than ever before.

Bet365 will be combining the systems and code initially developed for its online in-play systems with live video streams of sporting events offered by Perform. The streams and in-play betting system will be integrated into Bet365 betting offerings by the sportsbook’s in-house development team.

Bet365 Chief Technical Officer, Martin Davies, commented: “We are taking mobile computing very seriously, there’s a similar excitement as 10 years ago, when we started to explore the full potential of the Internet.”

He went on to tell United Kingdom gambling news: "Our software development teams have cracked a number of difficult technology challenges to enable us to be one of the first companies to offer a video streaming service across multiple mobile platforms. As connection speeds still need to catch up, we have designed our product to identify what speed the user is on and deliver the best experience that their phone will allow.”

Back in October, Bet365 operating in full compliance with British gambling laws, began offering live horse racing streams on iPhones. This service is enjoying great popularity and is growing rapidly in terms of number of viewers.

The new mobile betting service scheduled to launch any day now will bring approximately 3,400 sporting events and over 10,000 horse races to members’ mobile devices. Further technological developments are expected to see the light of day in 2012, among them a dedicated tablet service.
